I could hear Daisy's voice in the background, but I couldn't make out what she was saying.

"She wants to talk to you," my brother said before Daisy's voice came on the line.

"Are you really coming to the city?" Daisy asked.

"I thought the whole point of escaping to Sebastian's house was to spend time away from the city. You want to come back already?" my brother chimed in. It was noisier on their side of the line.

"Did you put me on speaker phone?"

"Yes," they said at the same time.

I pulled the phone away from my ear. "That's annoying."

“Why are you coming back so soon?” Dominic asked.

I rolled my eyes. “Your buddy, Sebastian, gave me the option to either stay here with a bodyguard or accompany him to the city.”

Dominic hummed in appreciation. “I like his way of thinking.”

“He’s quite bossy with you, isn’t he?” asked Daisy.

“Luckily, I boss him right back,” I said, not wanting anyone to think Sebastian had the upper hand. “Besides, it would be great to see you two.”

“We should all do dinner after the art class,” Daisy said. “We can order in at Dominic’s place or go to Sebastian’s. Actually now that I think about it, Sebastian’s might be best since the paparazzi don’t know about him.”

“If he lets us over,” Dominic said.

Interesting. “Why wouldn’t he?”

“Seb likes to keep his privacy.”

“But he’s your friend,” Daisy challenged.

“He’s always been private.”

"I'll order the food and talk to Sebastian about meeting at his place," my brother said.

"I can do that," I protested. I was staying with the man after all.

"It's fine, I need to connect with Sebastian for work anyway."

"Dom, you're doing it again," Daisy said.

Finally, someone on my team. "See how bossy he is, Daisy? Make him stop. He's annoying me. I am capable of basic adulting, you know."

"Oh, yeah, how are those paintings coming along?" My brother asked.

"Well, that's just rude."

Dominic laughed, and it made me smile. My brother was as gruff as they come, and Daisy brought out a lighter side of him. It was good to see. He deserved to be light and loved. He thought I didn't realize it, but I knew he carried the burden of our dad's empire on his shoulders. Dominic had always been the presumed heir, the one destined to take over.

For the most part, I didn't mind it. Didn't really think about it until I got older. I had so much choice. Choice to study what I wanted in school. Choice to explore different career paths.

I doubted Dominic had that luxury as the older child. It meant he had to leave London to take over the company. He knew the ins and outs and thrived. His mind was business oriented in a way mine was not.

"It will be nice to see you, Sis."

"Yeah, yeah. You too."
