She insisted we video chat as I relayed my professional opinion on her night club design which hit my email inbox two days ago. Luna gave me exactly forty-eight hours to review and cull together my feedback.

"I'm coming over," Luna insisted.

I sat up from my comfy seat in the library. On the tiny screen I watched as she pulled out a duffle bag, stuffing it with clothes.

Sebastian had stoked a fire for me before going back to his work. Apparently the guy he wanted to woo finally dropped some Easter eggs about their upcoming meeting—the one I was set to attend—and Sebastian was eager to iron out the details since it would mean time away from New York.

"We are almost two hours out of the city. Is that really necessary? I'm going to email you a copy of my recommendations and you can accept or reject what you want before getting it back to your designer."

Luna threw something lacey into her duffle, although I wasn't sure why she would need that.

"Seriously, Luna. You don't have to come out here. The designs aren't that bad. Just a few tweaks and it will work really well."

Luna stopped packing to stare at me, a nude bralette in her hands. "This isn't just about the designs. This, missy, is about that glow you're rocking. I need all the gory details ASAP."

I threw my head back and laughed. "You could tell that from looking at this tiny screen?"

Luna tapped a finger on her black painted lips. "It's just that obvious. Tell me, did fucking Sebastian bust your painter's block?"

I beamed. "It did."

Luna punched the air. "Hell, yeah. That's what I'm talking about. I'm desperate for girl time. Don't get me wrong, I love the women on my team, but I can't bitch to them and I really need to vent. And I need to interrogate you in a way that makes the Spanish Inquisition look like a cake walk."

I placed a hand across my chest. "Why am I suddenly nervous?"

"Don't be nervous. It's just me. And me getting to know you by having you spill your deepest darkest secrets to me. No biggie."

"If you say so."

"I do. Now I'm going to beg Sebastian for his address.” Luna zipped her duffle.

I wasn’t sure if she had any complete outfits in the bag, but she could always borrow something from me.

“Or I could just give it to you.”

Luna’s lips pulled into a straight line. “Do you actually know his address, or did he just drive you to an undisclosed location in the middle of the countryside?”

I laughed and then realized she was right; I didn’t actually have his address. I just knew some of the main streets around us. I could get us back here. Probably.

“See. I got you there, didn’t I? That man keeps his location locked down like Fort Knox. And it’s finally time to break his no visitors rule.”

My phone slipped from my hands, and I scrambled to get it upright. “What was that no visitor’s rule?”

I watched as Luna walked out of her bedroom. “You know. He’s not big on bringing people into his space. Maybe now that he’s invited you into his space—or should I say, you’ve invited him into yours…” She waggled her brows. “Then maybe he’ll be more inclined to host other visitors. I’m dying to see that house of his and I hear his mom is a hoot.”

I didn't know that he was that averse to visitors.

Sure, I knew Dominic had never been here before, but then he’d spent the better part of the last five years in London. And let’s be honest, men weren’t as good at staying in touch as women were.

Luna typed something on her screen. “I’m going to get the directions and head your way. My driver will be here in a few minutes.” My new friend blew me a kiss and ended the call.

I tossed my phone next to me. “What the hell was that?”

Luna and I sipped on our pineapple drinks – mine with tequila, hers without – as I showed her my work in the atrium.

The woman examined the canvas like a dermatologist checking a mole. She crossed her arms, tilted her head, and furrowed her brow.
