Me buried in her heat.

Now that I had her, I wanted more. She was a drug, and I couldn’t wait for my next hit.

Faith was such a distraction that I was behind on my work. Way behind.

I snuck out of bed early to triage my overflowing inbox. More and more clients were coming my way, and I turned many of them down. The ones that interested me required me to do some digging and initial vetting before agreeing to anything.

Harrison finally called me back. The eccentric man was treating me like this was some sort of elaborate game.

Harrison had finally decided on a date for our excursion to London. He also made a number of stipulations. If it were any other person demanding these ridiculous tasks, I'd immediately kick them off my client roster, no longer giving them the time of day.

But not this man. He topped my list of sharks, and I knew this could catapult me into the leagues that Dominic was born into. People looked down on made money, new money as they liked to call it. But a chosen few could break through those ranks and achieve the level of success I'd craved since I was a kid shivering under layers of blankets in the middle of winter because my mom had to choose between paying the heating bill and putting food on the table.

I'd make sure that never happened again as long as I lived. Not to me. Not to my mom. Not to Willow.

The man decided to invite me to his estate outside of Bath, England. We'd spend the day hiking along the canals and talking business. He insisted his wife and Faith come along. Hell, he'd become a lot more excited at the prospect after learning that I wanted to bring her. He knew the family name of course. Had worked with Dominic's family tangentially. It was why I had made the deal with Faith in the first place but that didn't stop it from leaving a bad taste in my mouth. Like I'd become a lot more appealing to him because of my connections.

That was the way of things, but I still wanted to make it on my own merit. The idea of not being the best or of not making it based on my own merit made me grind my teeth.

We would dine with them. We would go skeet shooting with them, whatever that was. I planned to research that on the airplane. And that was just the beginning. He’d also planned a game night, which made me cringe, but I’d do it.

I'd relay everything to Faith in the morning. We'd have one more week here together before our trip.

My eyes burned from staring at the screen for so long. Willow had long given up on me, trotting off to go to the bed in my room.

When I heard another roar of laughter, I shut down my computer and decided to check on Faith and Luna. My watch told me it was well past midnight, which made sense given my bleary eyes.

The women cackled at something else, and I observed them from the doorway. "Knock, knock."

Faith screamed. Luna startled.

I held my hands up. "It's just me."

Faith batted at her chest. "Shit I spilled all over myself."

Luna doubled over in laughter.

How drunk were they?

I strode forward, shaking my head as I picked up a clean towel Faith kept on her makeshift supply table. My hand was inches from her chest when I realized what I was doing. “Here you go,” I said, handing it over.

Luna cooed. “That’s so adorable. Sebastian Steele is adorable!”

Faith doubled over in laughter, not bothering to wipe up the mess.

“I think it’s officially bedtime for you two.” I lifted Faith into a fireman’s hold, and she squealed, grabbing for my shirt. The woman practically clawed at me. “Luna, I assume you’re fine finding your room?”

She waved me off. “Yes, of course. You lovebirds have fun.”

We went our separate ways, Luna down the hallway toward her guest room that I’d set up for her earlier. I brought Faith to my room, where I’d moved her in during the day.

I set her down on the edge of the bed. With her things scattered about, my bedroom now had a splash of color.

She frowned, pointing at one of the chairs in the sitting area. “Is that my blanket?”

I didn’t need to look over there to know it was. I’d placed it there myself earlier. “It is.”

Faith loved the olive-green chenille blanket. The thing was well worn, and she could have replaced it a million times over with the amount of money she probably had in her bank account.
