“Smart choice,” I say. “Tell us.”

His breaths are sharp and shallow. He won’t look any of us in the eyes. Cowards never do.

“He goes by Smoke. I don’t know his real name. That’s what Ronald calls him. He’s the leader of some underground gang or something,” Bradley rushes out.

“Why would Ronald get involved with a gang?” Kieran asks.

Bradley shakes his head, tears dripping down his face. “I don’t know. I swear to God. That’s all I know. He offered me a ton of money to sign off on the ship docking and more money for each successful shipment of women.”

Andrei takes another step forward. “You knew they were moving women from my country? From my homeland?”

“I’m sorry! I’m so sorry! Please! Please don’t!” Bradley begs.

The iron bar slams into his other knee. Andrei growls as he moves back, his face pinched in disgust.

“Anyone else have any questions for this waste of space?” I ask.

Everyone says no, and I move close to Bradley and lean down until we’re eye to eye.

“You tried to hurt my girl. I’m sure you understand I can’t forgive that.”

His face contorts as he sucks in a breath. “I’m sorry. It was a mistake.”

I pull my gun from the holster and raise it to his head. “No. It was a choice, Bradley. And for you, it was a deadly one.”

A few minutes later, we leave the warehouse and pile into our SUVs. Cage agreed to meet with us at one of his secret locations. After that, I need to stop at Chloe’s townhouse before I go home to her because if I have my way, she won’t ever return to that place again.

CHLOE

If Cali and Scarlet hadn’t come to visit me today, I think I would have gone bonkers. They brought all kinds of stuff for us to do, but we spent most of the time talking and laughing while watching animated movies.

Bash texted me a dozen times throughout the day to check in on me and ask how I was doing. A woman by the name of Grace appeared in the bedroom at precisely one o’clock with a tray of sandwiches, fruit, carrot sticks, and chips for all of us. Cali informed me she’s technically Declan’s house manager, but she tends to take care of everyone on the estate. The sweet older woman had been thrilled to meet me and hugged me before she left us to eat.

“So, I got my first real spanking,” I say quietly.

Cali’s eyes sparkle as she sits up on her knees. “Oh my God, tell us all about it.”

Scarlet bobs her head and grins. “Uh-huh. Don’t leave anything out.”

My cheeks heat as I replay last night for them, and by the time I’m done, my bottom is tingling.

“That is so hot. Oh my gosh, I knew Bash would be a strict Daddy,” Scarlet squeals.

“You poor thing. I hate the hairbrush. I’d prefer Daddy’s belt any day over the hairbrush.”

I don’t say anything because it was awful. But when Bash used the same brush this morning as he gently freed all the tangles from my hair, I got turned on knowing he was using the same thing to take care of me as he used to punish me. I guess in both situations he was caring for me.

“What did Kieran’s face look like when Paisley stomped past him? Did he get that pinched scowl going on? Like he couldn’t believe anyone would defy him?” Cali asks.

We all giggle hysterically. I probably shouldn’t laugh at my brother, but the way Cali described him is spot on.

“He totally did. I thought his head was going to explode.”

Scarlet claps her hands. “We need to meet Paisley. She’ll fit in perfectly with all of us. Anyone who isn’t afraid of Kieran is a friend of ours.”

When Cali and Scarlet leave around three, my cheeks hurt from laughing so much. Any concern about them not liking me is gone, and I feel like I have two more best friends.
