Almost instantly, his heart starts racing under my touch, but he doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t have to. His eyes say enough, and I know whether Paisley likes it or not, he just became her protector.

“Where are you taking me?”

“Not far. Keep your eyes closed.”

With both his hands wrapped around my upper arms, Bash leads me from our bedroom through the house. At one point, he picked me up and carried me down the stairs, and now he’s stopped somewhere and is taking forever to tell me to open my eyes.

“Okay, open.”

As soon as I do, I gasp. The French doorway is wide open, and perfect daylight streams in through the enormous windows. Along an entire wall, there’s a built-in drawer and shelving system custom-made for makeup artists to neatly store all their supplies. One shelf has dozens of glass jars holding all different kinds of brushes. Another shelf has bottles and bottles of my perfume. The drawers are all see-through on the front, showing off bottles and containers of expensive makeup all lined up perfectly inside.

“Daddy, what did you do?” I ask breathlessly.

In the middle of the room is a large white desk facing the windows, mirrors, and tripod lights surrounding it along with multiple cameras arranged in front. I’ve never seen such a perfect filming setup in my life.

My heart pounds faster in my chest as I take everything in. Did he do this for me? Because he knows I love makeup and want to film tutorials?

The walls are painted a soft yellow that only adds to the perfect lighting, and when I take a step inside and look around some more, my breathing stops.

Hung throughout the room are dozens of shadowboxes with glittery backgrounds and makeup containers displayed inside them in a way that looks artistic and tasteful. My makeup containers. All the ones I’ve saved over the years because I couldn’t bear to throw away the things that made me most happy.

Tears stream down my face as I go over to look at each one. “You made these?”

“I had some help,” he says quietly.

“Do you like them?” Cali asks from behind him.

I spin around to find Cali, Scarlet, and Paisley standing in the doorway with Bash, their eyes wet with tears as well.

“You all did this?” My voice cracks.

“Bash did most of it,” Scarlet says with a smile.

Moving my gaze to him, I let out a sob and shake my head. “I…I can’t believe this.”

He smiles and moves closer to me until he’s only a few feet away. “I would do anything for you, Chloe. You’re my girl, and my only goal for the rest of my life is to make you happy.”

Unable to stop myself, I run and jump into his arms, sobbing as I cling to him. “You make me happy. You’re all I need for the rest of my life too.”

Slowly, he pulls me off him and sets me on my feet. Then, he lowers himself to one knee. “If you really mean that, then I suppose there’s only one thing I need to do right now.”

He slips a box from his suit jacket and flips it open, showing me the beautiful ring winking back at me. “My baby girl, my love, my everything, will you be my wife and let me love you and take care of you forever?”

I can’t form words, so I bob my head and giggle as he slips the ring on my finger.

“I’m so glad you said yes because I’m not against forced marriage,” he murmurs after he stands and pulls me into his arms.

I laugh harder, feeling lighter than I’ve ever felt before. “You’re unhinged.”

He laughs and spins me around. “When it comes to you, you have no idea.”

Then he kisses me hard and possessively, and it only takes a few seconds before I’m moaning out loud.

The sound of a throat clearing startles me. Shit. We aren’t alone. Bash puts me down and swats my bottom.

“Sorry to put a damper on you breaking in your new makeup room, but we wanted to talk to you about something while we’re here,” Cali says.

I nod and look up at Bash who’s trying to look nonchalant, but I can tell he’s in on something with the three girls.
