I feel higher than I’ve ever felt before, soaring through the sky on a cloud of our own making. With our vulnerability, our patience, and our love combined, we have created something unbelievable.

To cap off the ceremony, we do a handfasting, both their hands on mine, wrapped in a cord to bind us all together in the forever way we have always wanted.

When all is said and done, we are pronounced a “union,” and all that’s left is the kiss.

“I can’t decide who goes first.” I flick my eyes between each of them.

Nate and Mason exchange a look, a look I’ve learned to be wary of. Because thatlook, glimmering and narrowed, meanstrouble.

Before I know it, I am being bombarded with kisses to either side of my face.

I hiccup with laughter, clutching them both to me until the jig is up, and I give them each a tender kiss.

Joy erupts through our friends and family in unison with my heart.

Tears roll down my face as I am embraced by my husband.

Wow,husbands. That’s going to take some getting used to.

Now it feels like life has really begun.

Nate holds my hand as I step down into the pontoon boat. “Careful…”

Mason’s got my other hand to keep me balanced.

I know I’ll never fall as long as I have them around.

We all settle into the boat and take off onto the sunrise-drenched lake.

The shores are quiet.

All our guests were still asleep when we snuck out of the house this morning.

We should be asleep too. Except we couldn’t. We dropped into bed after the reception last night, giddy and giggly from champagne and just talked the entire night.

They aren’t kidding when they say the wedding night probably doesn’t involve sex. All we did was chat. About what life we have ahead of us.

Mason yawns loudly, spreads his arms out across the back of the boat while Nate drives.

I plop down next to him, nuzzle into his chest. “How does it feel to be a married man?”

“The same.” He smirks.

I thwap him on the chest for that all the same.

Mason chuckles and kisses the crown of my head.

“So, honeymoon.” Nate glances over his shoulder at us. “Have we agreed on anything yet?”

That is one of the difficult things about a relationship of three. In order not to alienate anyone, every decision has to be unanimous.

“Well, we better figure it out soon. I’ve got to use these vacation days before I leave the firm,” Mason says.

I smile to myself.

He’s cutting the cord soon, going off on his own to work on more projects that he’s passionate about.

His design of our apartment was picked up by national news outlets, and we’ve discovered there’s a huge market for poly people looking for custom designed projects. It might be niche, but Mason can’t say he’s not passionate about polyamorous relationships.
