I lift my head from his shoulder, give him a sated smile. “What?”

Nate doesn’t respond with words. He gives me a tender kiss which tells me everything I need to know.

None of this was a fluke. An accident. It wasn’t just about coming or a good fuck.

This is something. This is real.

The question is, where do we go from here?

NATE

Wakingup beside a beautiful blonde is one thing. That beautiful blonde being Laney is another.

After we had each other on the boat, we enjoyed our sunset picnic, then returned to the cabin where we had every intention of cleaning up and getting ready for bed.

Instead, we went to my room and feasted on each other all over again, then fell asleep with our sweaty bodies entangled together.

In the night, she’s rolled out of my arms. But that’s alright with me.

Now I get a beautiful view of her.

Laney’s head is resting on the pillow beside mine, her blonde hair out of her face for once, so I have a view of her gorgeous features. Plush lips, neck peppered with marks from my teeth, the calligraphy of her eyebrows.

The sheets are uneven across her chest, exposing one of her breasts.

I lick my lips. Would love to have her nipple in my mouth again. Suck and lap. It’s a clear erogenous zone for her.

And there’s nothing I like more than hearing Laney descend into pleasure because of me. I doubt anything in life will ever top that.

Laney’s mouth curves into a smile, and her eyes open. “I can feel you staring at me.”

I nuzzle closer. “Is that a bad thing?”

Her eyes flutter shut again, but the smile does not fade. “As long as you like what you see.”

“Oh, more than like…” Although, it doesn’t feel right to use the word love right now. Not after one night of bliss together.

I touch her cheek, all the delicateness in my fingers I would have if I were petting a bird.

Laney hums and places her hand over mine, pressing my palm to her cheek.

My heart flutters.

Again, her eyes open.

We smile at one another.

From the outside, it probably looks stupid. Two heart-eyed fools staring at each other with clownish smiles.

In here, though, everything feels warm and wonderful.

“Last night was…” I begin, teeing up the sentence for her to fill in the blank.

“Fantastic,” Laney finishes.

It’s a relief to hear her say that. “I thought so too. Better than fantastic.” The best I’ve ever had.
