The weather was cool and there was even a little breeze that I loved. Cool nights and warm days were my idea of heaven. “Can we talk about using the barn for the club?”

“Yes,” he said, then pulled the nail from the wall, letting the tape measure noisily retract into its case. He came over to me with some of the swagger I’d seen at the rodeo from the cowboys, and I got a solid kiss on the lips. “And anything else you want.”

“I want to fuck you right in the ass today. Right here, in this stable.”

“You got it. Anything for you.”

My brows shot up high and I stared at him like he’d lost his mind. “Really?”

“You are letting me live my dream. Dammit,” he whispered as he cupped my cheek softly. “You’re amazing. You gave up a lot for me.”

“Don’t you know why?”

“You love me. I love you too, in case that was in question.”

I laughed a little, kissing him back. “Never.”

See, we were tops, as I’ve said, and neither of us liked bottoming, like almost at all. It was another thing we had in common. For two gay men in love, it was a big thing, though. Sure, we had it in common, but it wasn’t like a mutual love of pasta or a great read. It was big, and we’d had to communicate a lot, compromise more and we got through it somehow.

“So, that…boy,” he said as he leaned back on the railing of one of the stalls. “He was…hot on that bull. Made me think all kinds of things.”

“Like how hard he’d ride you? Yeah, me too, but you heard Eli and Noah. He’s not cut out for the lifestyle if he thinks he’s so tough that he wouldn’t need to use a safeword.”

“Isn’t that on us, though? We’d know what he could take or should. I say we get to know him. That couldn’t hurt, right? And, if nothing else came of it, we could always fuck him now and then.”

The way Damon’s mind worked was magical. He took problems and worked on them until he forced an issue to bend to his will. While the rest of us debated and fretted, Damon worked. It was one of the things I loved most about him. “You think?”

“Noah’s a little protective of him, sure. But do you think he’d forbid it?”

“I doubt it. Noah’s not the type to forbid anything, especially being Joel is a grown man.”

Again, problem solving. He reasoned, “Talk to Eli, get a feel for it. Don’t tell him we want Joel on a leash yet.”

“Okay. Damon…if it doesn’t work, don’t be too disappointed.”

“No, no. I am thinking we recruit a few subs for our fuck fests, then keep one of those on for a while. So, my love, get busy on your project.”

An idea struck me, and it was something I wanted regardless of the rest of it. “If we happened to find that fucker, Harvey…that would grease a lot of wheels with Noah and Eli.”

As I watched Damon’s smile grow, his eyes cut to me. “You are a fucking genius. They would be forever in our debt. Not that we don’t want to catch him anyway.”

Harvey, Harvey Caplin that was, was Eli James’ ex-boyfriend. When Eli left him and was found by Noah, he’d taken a fifty thousand-dollar watch from the man. Harvey tried to get him arrested and when that hadn’t worked, or suing him for much more, he’d gone after Eli and Noah personally. Harvey had tried to kill Noah and pin it on Eli, but Joel thwarted it. He was on the run, and Damon and I, we were after him.

What I didn’t like to say was that I did more than security work online to match ex-military with those that needed them. I took the hardest cases on myself, sometimes doing things that…skirted the law. In that line, I’d made a lot of great contacts around the globe, and I rarely used them unless it was important. And Harvey…that was important.

“That’s what they call, in the city, a win-win.”

He drawled, “They call it that in the coun try, too, son .”

“Lord help us all,” I said, laughing with him. “Okay, well, I’ll get the lube, fuck you in the ass, then we’ll talk about what to do with that barn. Sound good?”

“You were serious?”

I grinned and let him whine wordlessly for a moment before I relented. “Not really. I’m in the mood for work right now. I’ll get some things done online, you work out here and then we’ll call that architect and see about what we need to do with the barn.”

I went into the house and immediately got on the phone with Javier Duran, an old army buddy with years of special ops and merc experience. He worked for some sick fuckers that doled out vengeance the hard way.

“This is Javi,” he answered.
