I make a mental note to buy him some for Christmas.

“The driver is here,” Natalie tells me as she slips her phone back into a hidden pocket in her skirt.

My arm is draped across her shoulder, and I use my thumb to tracea pattern around the crystals sewn into the fabric of her dress. “You sure you don’t want me to call my Uber? Joey was pretty cool.”

Natalie shakes her head as she smiles up at me. “I’m really glad you came tonight.”

“Me too, Little Royal.”

I slide my hand over until it’s between her shoulder blades and guide her through the doors until we’re back on the sidewalk in front of the building.

The Maserati she arrived in is parked directly in front of us, and as we approach, the driver starts to get out. But I wave him off and reach for the rear door.

If anyone is opening doors for Natalie tonight, it’s me.

Her dress isn’t so long that it drags on the ground, but I still help her with the skirt as she climbs into the back seat. As she settles, the slit in the material, the one that’s been taunting me all night, flashes more of her soft, tempting thigh.

Since the first second I saw her tonight, I’ve been on the edge of embarrassing myself. Too close to tenting my suit pants. And now… Now there’s nothing stopping me.

I clear my throat. “You ready, Princess?”

Her gaze darts up to mine, probably hearing the heat in my voice. But then her eyes move to where my hand is resting on the door.

Natalie presses her thighs together, giving extra space between her and the door, then nods.

I shut the door carefully, then stride around the back of the vehicle. And as I do that, I remove my suit coat.

Chapter 109

Natalie

I keepmy thighs clenched together while I wait for Luke to round the back of the car.

I don’t think I’ve ever enjoyed an event as much as I did tonight.

Luke might be an obstinate jock half the time, but he’s easy to be around. He makes everything… fun.

But the look in his eyes a second ago has me thinking about a different sort of fun.

A less civilized sort of fun.

The door across from me opens, and I swallow.

Luke has taken off his jacket, leaving him in just his button-down. The top buttons are still undone, and the urge I’ve had to lick his neck since I first saw him hasn’t decreased. But now he’s rolled his sleeves up too.

I don’t know why that’s so hot. But I’d be willing to fund the research to find out.

One long, muscular leg stretches into the back seat, then the rest of him follows.

Luke doesn’t waste time shutting the door and buckling his seat belt, and suddenly the SUV feels like a tiny sports car.

The air between us is heavy and thick with need. And I hear it in his voice when Luke tells the driver we’re ready.

I keep my eyes forward, not sure how to handle myself, but then Luke drapes his suit jacket over my lap.

“Since you’re cold.”

His words are quiet, barely audible over the soft classical music the driver has playing.
