“Right back at ya,” she murmured before letting out a blissful moan as I slid the final few inches. My pelvis rubbed against her clit and she let out a shuddery breath.

“So good,” she panted.

I needed her lips again before I made her shatter underneath me, so I leaned over and took her mouth in a fierce kiss. Her tongue slid against mine, meeting my eagerness and then some. My hips rocked out slightly and then back in, and we both groaned at the heavenly sensation.

There was no better feeling in the world than being balls deep inside Jenna. Not a single fucking one.

My restraint was running thin, and my thrusts started coming faster and harder, her moans only spurring me on until any control I had completely snapped and I was pounding into her like our lives depended on it. Her hands turned to grip the table above her head, the tie still wrapped around her wrists and her legs locked around my hips. I gripped her hips and canted them ever so slightly to hit her at a better angle, and she let out a scream as her pussy squeezed me so tight, it nearly took me to my knees.

“Fuck,” I growled, trying to hold off just a little longer, but it was no use. She felt too good and I was too needy for her. With one more thrust, I let out my own shout as my release ripped through me.

When I’d caught my breath, I looked up and found Jenna smiling at me, her cheeks rosy with a post-orgasmic glow and her eyes shining bright. It was that moment when it hit me hard—I was going to marry this woman.

TELL YOUR BEST FRIEND EVERYTHING

JENNA

There was only one person I was going to call when it came to planning my mother’s reception and that was Sadie. That girl could plan like nobody’s business, and she had an eye for decoration that always left me amazed. It was no wonder she was so good at her job as an interior decorator. She had been good at it from an early age, always enjoying turning a blank, boring space into something that fit exactly what you were looking for whether it was comforting, inviting, modern, classic, vintage, unique. You named it and she could completely make it come to life.

But I also wasn’t surprised to see her look at me like I was crazy when she showed up to the space—the very expensive space—my mom had picked out.

“You’ve got to be kidding me,” she said.

“’Fraid not.”

“Your mom picked one of the most expensive venues in the city for a reception to celebrate a marriage that probably won’t last longer than the salad in my fridge?”

“Yup.”

She shook her head as she stared around the space—a fancy ballroom with beautiful crystal chandeliers and gold filigree around all the accents on the walls and window trim.

“What a waste.” Then she firmed up her shoulders. “Alright, let’s turn this into the best reception of her damn life and hope she actually appreciates it. Did she give you any other guidelines?”

I was hoping I could stall her before she asked that question.

My mom dropped off an entire binder full of things she wanted, but I’d left it at home and Connor was bringing it. Despite Sadie being my best friend in the whole world, I hadn’t told her about Connor yet. Not all the nitty-gritty details at least. She knew he was my new stepbrother and we were planning this together, but that was about it. I had accepted her relationship with my dad, but sometimes it still felt weird to share details about my sex life. I didn’t think she’d tell him, but I also didn’t want her to have to lie to her husband.

It put me in an awkward spot.

“I come bearing gifts.” Connor’s deep voice penetrated the silence that had filled the room when I’d frozen at Sadie’s question.

She turned toward the door, and I didn’t miss the way her eyes widened and then the small wink she shot me when Connor walked past us to the table so he could set down the giant binder.

“You must be Connor,” she said, putting out her hand for a shake. “Sadie,” she said when he grabbed it.

“Nice to meet you,” he said and then his dark gaze turned to me. “Jenna.”

The way my name rolled off his tongue sent a shot of lust straight through my body. He said it the way he did when he was thrusting inside me and holding me right on the edge of release. My cheeks flushed and I swallowed thickly. “Connor.”

That arrogant little smirk that both annoyed and aroused me appeared on his face.

Sadie’s eyes narrowed as her gaze bounced between us, and she tilted her head to the side ever so slightly. I knew her well enough to know the wheels in her brain were turning, and I did not need her to pick up on the sexual tension between Connor and me while we were supposed to be planning this doomed reception.

“So, should we sit down? We’ve only got two weeks to get this thing finished,” I said.

Sadie’s eyes practically popped out of her head. “Two weeks?! Jesus, your mom really loves to screw with people’s schedules. I can’t even believe she got this place on such short notice.”

“There was a cancellation,” Connor told her, “or else she would’ve been out of luck.”
