“Thanks,” I laugh. Pretty fucking sure the good is going to outweigh the bad.

“What are you doing, Ares? I can’t see.”

“You’re blindfolded, good twin. That’s kind of the plan.” I steer her through the house and onto the wraparound porch, facing the lake and waterfalls behind us. “Bend your knees, baby.”

“What?” She laughs.

“Bend and sit,” I tell her and hold her arms as she moves super slowly. My girl is five months pregnant with the next set of Sinclair twins, who happen to be the first set of Wilder twins. One boy and one girl.

I untie her blindfold. “Okay, baby. Open your eyes.”

Her aqua eyes open slowly and take in the white wooden rocker she’s sitting in, then over at the matching one next to it. “Ares...”

“I figured we could sit out here and have coffee in the mornings and enjoy our view.”

Tears trickle down her face. Pregnancy has definitely made her more of a crier, and she was already one to start with. “Just like your mom and dad.”

I drop down on one knee and crack open the Tiffany box with the brilliant-cut diamond nestled inside. “Grace Sinclair... I love you with everything I am and ever will be. I want to spend my life loving you and our babies. I know I’m not a perfect man. But I promise to be the best man I can be, if you’ll let me.”

She covers her face with her hands, then peeks through her fingers, crying. “Ares...”

“Baby, I’m begging you, put me out of my misery and say yes.”

She nods her head and very carefully tries to throw herself into my arms. “I love you, Ares.”

“Until the end of time, baby.”

The End
