“Whatever, Grace. You watch all his games. You don’t really expect me to think it’s for his brother, do you?” She sips her red wine and leans back in her chair as I die of absolute mortification. “Not that your brother isn’t hot. But you know, the wholemarried to her twinkinda ruins that fantasy. Besides... it looks like you’re Cross 2.0, only bigger... and maybe hotter.” She waves her hand in front of her face and glances my way conspiratorially before looking back at Ares. “So what are your intentions with our Grace, Mr. Wilder?”

“Oh my God.” I throw my napkin across the table at her. This has gotten completely out of control. “Stop it,” I squeal. “I’m nobody’s Grace,” I chastise Lennon while simultaneously wondering if I could get away with smothering her in her sleep... her bodyguard probably would have an issue with that. But it’s not like she sleeps in our flat with us. Maybe she wouldn’t know...

“That’s not what it looked like when I walked in,” Lennon interrupts my quickly spiraling thoughts. Maybe that’s a sign I’ve watched enough serial killer podcasts this month.

Heat creeps up my cheeks, and I take the bottle of red wine out of her hands. “I think you’re cut off for tonight. When did you say you’re going home?”

“Don’t be such a bore, Gracie girl.” She snags the wine back and fills both our glasses. “Daddy said they’re sending a car tomorrow. God forbid I spend any downtime here. But part of the deal when they agreed to let me come here to dance was that I have to come home whenever I can.” She sips her wine and peers over the glass at me. “You guys could always come with me...”

I shake my head. I’ve already told her no every other day for at least a week.

Self-care.

That’s all I’m concerned with this week.

At least I was until Ares walked into that hall.

“What are your plans for the week? Going to take Ares sightseeing?”

“I don’t know. We haven’t really talked about it.” I look over at Ares, and heat blooms for a whole new reason. My God. The way his hands felt on my body... That may be my new idea of self-care.

“I’ll do anything you want, good twin.” A devious smile slides across Ares’s face.

“Ohh... Good answer, hockey god,” Lennon snarks, and she’s not wrong.

That was a great answer.

“Well...” She stands from the table and grabs our plates. “I’m going to shower and go to bed.” I can tell from the evil little glint in her eye she’s about to throw a zinger my way. “Just saying... I’ll be wearing noise-canceling headphones tonight. So, you know... feel free to make some noise.”

Oh. My. God.

“I’m going to kill her,” I mumble under my breath as her bedroom door closes before I drop my head into my hands, utterly exhausted from the ups and downs of this day.

“Pretty sure you can’t kill royalty.” Ares tugs me into his lap and massages my neck with one big hand. “You didn’t mention that your roommate was a princess.”

“She doesn’t like to make a big deal of it and refuses to use her title.” I sigh dramatically. “Besides, her bodyguard likes me more than her. I really think I could get away with it if I wanted to.”

“He probably wants to fuck you.” Ares eyes dare me to tell him he’s wrong.

“First of all,he’sa she. Andsheis very much interested in men. So you’re wrong, Mr. Wilder.” I yawn and lean my head against his shoulder. “Did I thank you for coming tonight?”

“You don’t ever need to thank me for wanting to see you, Grace.” He stands with me in his arms like I weigh nothing. So freaking sexy. “Ready for bed, tiny dancer?”

A warmth envelops me, and I circle my arms around his neck and yawn again. “You know I can walk, right?”

Ares walks across our flat into my bedroom and carefully sits me down on the bed, then drags his big hand down his face and over his sexy scruff. An internal war wages behind his dark eyes. “Do you mind if I take a shower? I need to wash the airplane funk off before bed.”

Ares Wilder is going to be naked in my shower.

How many times have I touched myself in there, thinking about him?

So many . . . too many to count.

And now I’m hot for a whole different reason.

Down girl.

Ares reaches down and runs his knuckles over my cheek. “Where’d you just go? Your whole face just warmed up.”
