Liam comes over and pulls Summer’s back against his chest, clasping his hands over her stomach. I just take them in for a moment, still not believing that I’m meeting such talented people. And Ilikethem, all of them.

Pappy chats with my parents and I talk with the girls a little longer before tuning into the guys’ conversation with Sutton. Jamison is talking about the ski season at home, and how great the snow has been this year.

“And that one is quite the skier,” Jamison adds, pointing at me.

“Is that right?” Zac says. “So the athletic gene is in your family, I take it.”

“Me? No.” I laugh and wave him off.

Sutton shoots me a grin and nods. “She looks like a pro out there, and I grew up on those mountains.”

“Nice. Well, you’ll have to show us how it’s done when we come for a visit. See if you can get this one out there,” Zac says, tucking Autumn into his side. “She’s always working so hard at the lodge when she’s there.”

He looks at her with such pride and adoration, it’s staggering. I take a drink of my lemontini and swoon.

“The lodge is gorgeous. Scarlett can’t say enough amazing things about what you’ve done for the resort,” I tell Autumn.

“It’s true,” Sutton says. “You’ve made the resort what it should’ve always been.”

“I couldn’t have done it without Scarlett and Jamison,” Autumn says, smiling fondly at her brother-in-law.

I glance over at Sutton, and he smiles briefly before glancing away. I feel a pang of envy, wishing we weren’t hiding our relationship. I miss his hand in mine, his lingering touches, the way he looks at me when we’re alone. When we’re in public, it’s like he puts on a friendly, reserved persona that feels unreachable.

“Well, we should probably move to our suite, so the people joining yours will have room when they get here,” Zac says.

“I’m sure they wouldn’t mind meeting you,” my dad says, his laugh so loud my mom jumps.

He pats Mom on the back in apology and takes a long swig of his drink. I’ve never seen my dad nervous around anyone. I guess Weston and I aren’t the only super fans in the family.

Zac smiles at him warmly. “It was great meeting all of you. And we’ll see you soon in Landmark Mountain. Count on it. I’m trying to convince Summer and Liam to come while we’re there too. They need a vacation.”

He clasps Sutton’s hand. “Good to see you, man.”

“You too,” Sutton says.

I stare at the guy I used to obsess about when I had to watch football with my brother, next to the guy I swooned over at the movies, standing face-to-face with the man I spent the night with, the man I think I love…and as hot as Zac Ledger and Liam Taylor are, neither of them hold a candle to Sutton Landmark.

Not for me anyway.

CHAPTER THIRTY-EIGHT

A SIP HERE, A SIP THERE

SUTTON

After my night with Felicity and the way this morning went, I’m not as excited about being at the Super Bowl as I should be. I feel terrible about making her cry, and if it were any other circumstances, I’d be able to make sure we really are okay.

Being away from home in a beautiful suite with the woman I can’t seem to get enough of…that’s where I want to be.

Things are unresolved, and I never deal with that very well. I can hardly focus on anyone but her, and around her parents is not where I can let down my guard.

When everyone leaves our suite, the space is considerably quieter. David resumes his stern dad stare at Felicity, and Lane shoots anxious glances between the two of them.

“I’ll give you all time to talk,” I say, gesturing to the seats and moving to sit down.

“No, don’t go,” Felicity says, reaching out to touch me and then dropping her hand before it touches me. Her cheeks flush and I move back to where I was standing before.

“I shouldn’t have chosen today to tell you about my job,” Felicity tells her parents.
