“You don’t have to wait because I love you to, Aiden. So much.”

His smile is wide as he lowers his head and I meet him halfway, standing on my tiptoes.

His lips press to mine and he deepens the kiss. Right there in the middle of the parking lot. Where anyone could see us.

And he doesn’t care.

“Can I walk you to your interview?” he asks as he pulls away.

I nod, feeling my cheeks heating up. “Actually, that would be really nice.”

He takes my hand, giving it a squeeze, and we head toward the front. I can see Connor peering out at us, smiling, and I can’t help but laugh.

“Dorian is going to be so stoked.” I giggle, looking up at Aiden.

“He probably already knows.” Aiden makes a face. “Connor probably texted him.”

“I guess we better get used to it.”

“I think I’d like that.” He smiles down at me.

“Me, too.”

Epilogue

Aiden

Ayear and a half later

“Congratulations!” Everyone cheers as Melody steps through the front door.

I cheer along, clapping my hands as I watch her face grow beet red.

God, she’s gorgeous when she does that.

“Thank you,” she calls out with a huge smile on her face.

I walk to her, planting a kiss on her lips, and handing her the bouquet of flowers. “You did it, baby. You got that business degree.”

“I did.” She beams.

She has a twinkle in her eye, mostly because she knows that while this party is celebrating her graduation, it’s also averybig moment for our boys.

Yes,ourboys. Connor and Dorian.

The two are thick as thieves and have become truly like brothers. Now we just have to make it official.

I think back at how much our lives have changed over this last year and a half.

Shortly after I quit, Madeline decided to switch gears and told Connor he was moving with them to Italy, and she wanted him to go live with them even before the wedding so he could start bonding with Richard.

Connor decided to lay down the law and told her he wouldn’t go live with her no matter where she lived. He even threatened to run away if she made him. She threw a tantrum or ten, but he held his ground. I couldn’t be prouder of him.

I guess in the end, Madeline thought it was more work than it was worth, so she got married, moved to Italy, and writes him a letter on special occasions and leaves it at that. No one knows yet, and I’m planning a surprise inside the surprise party, but she signed some very important documents a couple of days ago.

Connor has been his happiest since I gained full custody and Melody moved in a year ago.
