“I love you too,” Mason said.

Jack nuzzled his neck, and without warning, the dam broke. Apparently, he wasn’t cried out after all. Sobs shuddered through him, and Mason held him up as he let go, crying and muttering nonsense. “I’m angry but… I know he had to… Fuck. I don’t know if I can take this.”

“It’s going to be okay,” Mason smoothed his hands up and down Jack’s back. “It has to be.”

“I love you. So much,” Jack said. “Love you both.”

He felt Mason nod as he held Jack against him. At some point, his sobs eased, and the holding turned into kissing.

Mason felt so good against him. The heat of his mouth seemed like the only thing that could ease the awful cold inside Jack. He slid his tongue over Mason’s lips, teasing the slick skin, then he pushed in, and Mason opened to him. He groaned as he tasted Mason, flicking his tongue over the roof of his mouth and sucking on his tongue.

He tugged Mason’s t-shirt up, needing to touch him everywhere at once. Mason dug his fingers into Jack’s hips and tugged him forward so their bodies were pressed together. Mason was as hard as Jack, and Jack thrust against him, rubbing their cloth-covered cocks together. It would feel so good to have Mason inside him. He needed that, needed to surrender to a lover, to be taken, used, made to forget everything.

Jack pressed kisses along Mason’s neck, loving the salty taste of his skin. He nipped at his collarbone, then bit harder into his shoulder. Mason hissed and bucked against him. “Fuck, Jack.”

Jack sucked at the wounded flesh, wanting to mark him. He wanted Gray there, so badly, almost badly enough to call him. He wanted Gray to mark them both, to show him that somehow this would be okay. Jack was afraid of being out at work, afraid he wouldn’t be able to take the flack. He was a fucking coward, and he didn’t want Gray to know.

Mason slid his hands over Jack’s chest and pinched his nipples, tugging hard and making Jack cry out.

Jack took his mouth again, savagely. He bit at Mason’s lower lip and snapped their hips together.

“Need you,” Jack whimpered. “Need you to fuck me.”

Mason pushed at him, and Jack stumbled back against the counter.

Mason’s eyes were wide as he shook his head. “No. We can’t. Not without Gray. We’ve never… And we can’t now, not when you’re angry.”

He was right. Jack grabbed onto the counter to steady himself.

Mason moved toward the door. “I’m going to shower.”

“Don’t go.” Jack reached for Mason. “I…” He took a step and stumbled. Fuck, he’d only had two drinks. He shouldn’t be this bad off.

“Did you eat dinner?” Mason asked.

“Yeah. Kind of. A little. I wanted to save room for snacks, and…”

“Let me put you to bed.”

Jack’s head swam as Mason wrapped an arm around his waist. “Come on.”

“That was nice. I didn’t want to stop.”

“Jack.” Mason gave him a serious look.

“Love you,” Jack said and Mason smiled. “Love Gray too, the stubborn fucking bastard.”

“He loves you, Jack. He wants to do this for all of us. It will mean more money and the ability to be who we are whenever and wherever we want.”

“I’m just not sure I have the nerve to be out at work and take the shit the others will give us.”

Mason turned Jack to face him. “Look at you, at what you’re doing. You’re making a life you want with two men. That’s more than most people would try to do.”

“But Gray doesn’t care what they think at work, and you went against what your family wanted, and I’m?—”

“You’re incredible. Jack, please.”

Nothing was going to cheer him up or snap him out of it. He’d been worrying about this moment since Gray started pushing to change things at work, and the alcohol was only making it worse. Why the fuck couldn’t he just pass out? “I need another drink.”
