Don’t do this.

Maddie’s face inched closer.

Don’t do it.

Her brain recited every reason why it was a mistake. Every reason why she should pull away.

But they didn’t matter.

No matter how much sense they each made, in that moment, the one and only thing that made complete sense was the way her chest burned when Maddie touched her. The way her stomach erupted at the look in her eyes.

Maddie slowly tilted forward until her forehead rested against Saff’s.

Saff swallowed, her throat suddenly going overwhelmingly dry.

Then her hand moved before she could stop it, resting on Maddie’s hip.

She felt Maddie’s body shift even closer to her, until her hand fell from her hip to the small of her back, with her arm naturally wrapping around her.

Stop. Her brain threw out one last warning, but it was too late. She couldn’t bring herself to pull back.

Maddie’s fingers trailed back down her jaw, but this time, when they reached her chin, they gently tugged it forward.

Saff closed her eyes just a moment before she felt Maddie’s warm lips brush against hers.

It wasn’t a kiss.

It was more like Maddie was taking her time to match them perfectly together. And something about it felt like so much more than a kiss ever could.

Then finally, she pushed her lips forward.

A surge of electricity sprinted through her, and she couldn’t help it when her hand moved up Maddie’s back, pulling their bodies together.

Then when Maddie moaned into her mouth, a fire erupted within her core.

Saff surged forward, deepening the kiss, her body begging to feel every inch of Maddie against her.

The kiss suddenly turned from gentle and slow to something she needed in order to breathe. Like she’d been starved her whole life and had no idea until she’d tasted what she’d been missing.

In one swift movement, Maddie's leg wrapped around her waist.

And when Saff rolled on top of her, pressing her hips down between Maddie’s thighs, she moaned into her mouth again, this time kissing her hard along with it.

Saff's heart pounded in her chest, every ounce of exhaustion completely evaporating.

Maddie reached up with her other hand, clutching the front of Saff’s shirt in her fist, keeping her firmly in place as if she’d been yearning for this exact position for a very long time.

Saff ground her hips down—

Suddenly, the sound of the front door shutting echoed through the house.

They both froze.

It took her brain a second to register.

Then her eyes shot open.

Maddie unhooked her legs from around her waist and pushed back, her flushed swollen lips parting slightly in shock.
