“Yeah?” Caleb quirks a brow. “And?”

“She was talking about him,” I say, hands shaking at my sides. “She called him Rich.”

“Damn.” Caleb whistles low. “She’s got to be close to him to call him that. Maybe she’s sleeping with him, just like?—”

“Don’t finish that thought,” I warn him. “Let’s not even go there. That’s not the only reason I called you here. She doesn’t seem to be getting the hint we want her gone.”

“What do you want to do?” Caleb asks.

“We need to step up our game,” I say. “It’s not enough for the community to be on her, because it’s just making Polly Sunshine more determined than ever to ‘help’ us with her experiments.”

Caleb stares off into the distance, a thoughtful expression on his face. “Bastian would probably say that the best way to get something done is to do it ourselves.”

My lips curl into a smirk. “Yes, that’s what we need to do. We need to go after her ourselves, make sure she knows that she isn’t wanted here and that she can’t defy us and get away with it.”

“She might be cute but she’s dangerous,” Caleb agrees. I nod. The princess has the cute innocent look down, but it’s a front. She’s a snake in the grass, just like they all are.

My eyes flit to Caleb and I recognize the same flicker of intensity in his eyes. There’s more at stake than just keeping the town in check here. It’s about ensuring history doesn't repeat itself. I can't let someone like her disrupt what we've built after everything we’ve been through.

“Time for plan B,” I say. “You follow her everywhere she goes. I’m going to talk to Bastian about this and come up with something else to do, something big.

Caleb grins and sticks his hands in his pockets. “Can do.”

We part ways and Caleb takes off for Morgan’s Auto and I call Bastian, agreeing to get him to meet me at the park near the Quik-Mart.

He shows up within a half hour, carrying a bag and wearing a wide smirk. “Got it,” he says, showing me the contents.

I grin. “That’s perfect.”

We execute our plan quickly, stepping back to admire our handiwork. It doesn’t take long for Sienna to approach, Caleb trailing her a few paces back. She stops, seeing the newest addition to her car.

She stares, a flurry of emotions crossing her face before she starts to shake, hands balled into fists.

If she wants to sleep with Rich, she can face the consequences. I watch in delight as her eyes fill with tears at the word now spray-painted on her car, in large letters.

“Slut?” she whispers. “Why?”

“You know why,” I say, shrugging. “Now everyone else knows too.”

A tear falls down her cheek, and for a moment, I feel a twinge of guilt. But this is the game we're in, and sentimentality won't cut it.

“You’re not welcome here,” Bastian says simply. “Get the hint yet?”

“I’m not giving in to you,” she says, one hand on her hip, wiping her tears away with the other. “You’re a bunch of bullies and thugs, and I’m not backing down.”

Sienna's defiance grates on my nerves, a tightening in my jaw betraying the frustration simmering beneath the surface.

“Have it your way,” I say, stepping closer to her, close enough to see her tremble minutely under my gaze. “But we’re not backing down either. This is just a taste of what we have for you if you don’t get out of town.”

She sets her mouth into a thin line, staring at the three of us. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Then we aren’t either,” Bastian tells her. “Dominic here will spend the rest of today with you, making sure you don’t get achance to talk to anyone and then we’ll take turns with you, keeping you company until you get sick of us and finally decide to do the right thing and leave.”

“Fine,” she says, turning her head away to hide the pink on her cheeks. “You can bully me, you can try to intimidate me, you can harass me but I’m going to see this project through.”

She ignores me as I follow her, heading for the auto shop once more. “Tow the car here,” she tells Mr. Morgan. “And charge it to the Ravenwood boys,” she adds. “They’re going to help take care of my car today.”

I can’t help the smirk that crosses my features. She may be stubborn, but she plays just as dirty as us.
