“We got it,” I say.

“Good. He was disappointed that he couldn’t be here to help torture the coyote,” he sighs.

“Who’s bloodthirsty?” Logan asks, grinning.

Bash lifts a shoulder. “I am.” He smirks, but it turns into a frown. “Quinn is here.”

The big bear shifter dips his head as he comes down the stairs. He looks at each of us and doesn’t bat an eye when he sees the dead man hanging.

“Everything good?” he asks.

“Now it is.” Logan glares. “Where were you?”

“Taking care of things at the office,” he replies.

“Did you ask Ryker to bring Caleb?” I ask.

“Yes.” He leans his shoulder against the door frame. “How is Breeane?”

“She is resting. Las is with her.” Logan crosses his arms. “You don’t seem surprised? You haven’t asked about Heath or any details.” He narrows his eyes.

“Do I need the details? It worked out. She is safe, and her brother is going to get help,” he answers, shrugging.

“Are you curious about Heath?” I ask.

“No,” he answers firmly.

“Why the fuck did you come then?” Logan snaps.

“To inform you that your future in-laws are in jail,” he says calmly. “I told the police to hold them for a few days.”

“What?” Logan drops his arms, and I fight a laugh.

“What did they do?” Elijah asks, pushing back his hat with a finger.

“They tried to stick the hotel with the large bill they racked up. The card they gave them was declined. The hotel wants their money.”

“Jesus,” Logan sighs. “I don’t know if I should bail them out.”

“I vote for not,” I tell him.

“Me too,” Elijah says.

“I wouldn’t,” Quinn says.

“Is that all?” I ask.

“Yeah,” he answers. “I’m going back to work. Tell Breeane that I’m glad she’s safe.” He waves low and turns.

“I don’t understand him,” I mumble.

“Don’t try,” Bash tells me. “It’s a waste of time.” He slaps me on the shoulder. “I’m leaving. Make sure to scrub the blood out of the corners.” His eyes sparkle, and he disappears.

“Asshole has to show off,” Elijah pouts. “Fucking vampires,” he says with no heat.

“Are you helping?” Logan asks.

He looks at all the blood. “I would love to, but Saylor hates it when I come home smelling like someone else’s blood.” He tsks. “She’s pregnant. The smell really bothers her,” he says, backing out the door. “Next time.” He holds his hands out. “Thanks for the show.”
