“Don’t pout, baby,” Lucas says, sauntering my way.

“I’m not,” I deny, definitely pouting. Maybe they didn’t hear everything. There is a lot of pounding and noise in the room. How strong can their ears be?

“I think you are lying about pouting.” I stay stubbornly silent. “Here.” He hands me water. “I know you're probably dehydrated.” He gives me a cocky grin and turns around.

“Lucas,” I growl. Boys.

I am about to do the biggest eye roll ever when the front door slams open, and my nightmare storms inside. Instead, my eyes almost pop out of my head as they land on my mother.

She is dressed to kill in her tight-as-fuck pants, crop top, and thigh-high boots. My dad slinks in slowly behind her.

“Bree,” she shouts but stops the tirade I know is coming as she notices my mates. She skids to a halt, a sultry smile on her lips. “Sweets, I didn’t know you had company. I was so worried about you. You haven’t called recently,” she says, never taking her eyes off my men.

“Mother,” I sneer, jumping up and rushing over. I put myself between her and the guys. “Mother.” I wave my hand in front of her face.

“Oh, Bree,” she says sweetly, focusing on my face. “Are you going to introduce us?”

“No.” I cross my arms.

“Sweety, you are being rude,” she scolds.

“What are you doing here?” I ask and feel the guys move behind me, a wall of bare-chested men.

“I told you. I wanted to see my little girl. You haven’t called.” Her mouth is smiling, but I see the anger in her eyes.

“How did you find me?” Caleb must have told her. Stepanie’s cousins spilled everything.

“I had a talk with your brother.”

“Is he here, too?” I ask, my heart in my throat.

“He didn’t come with us.” She motions to my dad. “Just me and Dad. Aren’t you going to say hello to our daughter?” she asks with gritted teeth.

“Bree, how are you?” Dad says obediently.

“Dad,” I reply. “Now that you've seen me, you can leave.”

“Bree, is that the way you speak to your mom?” She chuckles. “Don’t be coy.”

“What do you want?” I am so tired of the games.

“We checked into a hotel. We thought we would stay for a week or two. Help you get settled,” she says brightly.

“No.”

“Bree,” Dad starts.

“No,” I snap. “You can go back home.”

“Introduce me,” Mom screeches.

I stare at her determined face. “These are my boyfriends,” I announce. “Logan, Lucas, and Las. Guys, this is my mom, Rita, and my dad, Mark.”

“Boyfriends,” Dad says faintly.

“Hmm…” Mom drawls, biting her lip. “Did they buy this place for you?”

“I bought it with my money. I spent all of it. I have nothing left but this building,” I lie.
