My vision was already clouded with darkness, struck by that coil forming within me.

What was left of his anger came through those brutal thrusts that sent me closer to the edge, awaiting that final release I wanted so badly.

I was a mess all over again, moaning and whimpering for him, begging for that satisfaction. He was so impossibly deep; I couldn’t think straight. That haze consumed me, turning me into manifested desperation. I could feel only him, and I knew that was exactly what he wanted.

It was what I wanted.

Griffin’s sloppy thrusts told me he was just as close to finishing, especially as his hold on me tightened. He let go of my hair despite the leverage it offered him, and he brought me as close to his body as he could. His hips hammered into me as he choked on his moans.

Tipping my head back to rest against his shoulder, my jaw went slack, and there was no turning back. My vision blurred, and I clenched around him. He cursed against my neck at the sensation, hips stuttering.

Coming to the precipice, his dangerous thrusts teetered me over the edge. Those stars filled my eyes, and that coil broke.

The pleasure was immediate, especially as he continued for a few more thrusts until he couldn’t hold back anymore. I was on cloud nine and completely blissed out.

As Griffin pulled out before he could finish, he spilled on my back with a grunt. His opposite hand held me in place, not letting me topple to the floor.

Using the wall for support as he reached for the box of tissues I had near the bed, he helped clean me up.

Content from how light I felt, I was perfectly compliant as Griffin scooped me up and placed me on the mattress.

Looking up at him, I caught my breath, amazed by how jaw-dropping he looked as he hovered above me.

He dipped down and pressed a kiss to my lips. He let it linger before taking my bottom one between his teeth, caging me against the mattress.

I giggled at the affection, feeling completely warm all over.

“Just because I let you come, doesn’t mean I’m done with you yet,” Griffin murmured against my lips, eyes glinting with mischief.

The declaration made me squirm, and while it worried part of me, the other couldn’t wait to find out what that looked like.

Chapter 21 - Griffin

I didn’t expect to wake up to the other side of the bed being empty, nor did I anticipate the way my heart froze at the realization.

Glancing over, I could only see where Sara had been during the night. The sheets were rumpled, and the blankets not made yet—the only proof she had been there at all.

My stomach dropped.

Did she do to me what I had done to her the first time we slept together?

I hadn’t handled it how I should’ve. I had been a coward, but I didn’t think she would do the same.

It made me wonder if she wanted to get back at me for that time. Pulling a fast one on me to prove a point.

But I didn’t want to believe it.

Glancing over at either nightstand, I didn’t find a note or any indication of where she went. I swallowed back the dryness in my throat at the thought of it.

Pushing my way out of bed, I reached for my clothes piece by piece and pulled them back on again. Luckily, I hadn’t spent all night at the Roadbar like last time and wearing the same shirt from the day before felt less grimy.

Something about Sara leaving me without any word had my wolf pacing inside me, desperate for some sort of answer. It didn’t like not knowing where we stood, or if she cared about me the way I cared for her.

Although, if the night before had been any indication, we were on the same page. That passion had come to life all over again, and there was no mistaking how enthusiastic we both were.

Once my clothes were on and my chest was thrumming, I paused at the top of the stairs when I heard a quiet humming, followed by rummaging. Curious, I made my way down.

Relief immediately cloaked me the moment I found her. She didn’t leave at all.
