"Well, if you two want to go ahead. I'll stay with Eli," Lucien offered.

There was a flash of fear on Jayce's face as he turned to me.

"Raven, what do you think?"

"I'll keep you safe," I smirked at him before I turned back to Lucien. "Are you sure the two of you are gonna be okay?"

"Yeah, we will meet up with you as soon as he is on his feet," he promised. Even in the face of the unknown my man was nothing but calm.

I leaned in to give them both a kiss on the cheek before we walked away. Jayce and I started down the hallway when I noticed a flash of something ahead.

Not something. Someone.

A head of blonde hair cascaded down as a little blonde girl peeked out from behind a door.

"Jayce, we have a friend up there," I said, pointing with my flashlight.

"A nice one?"

"I'm not sure," I told him honestly. Lying wouldn’t help either of us. "But let's head that way."

"Only if you’re sure," Jayce mumbled. He hadn’t been this nervous in a long time.

"Do you have any feelings? Emotions?" I asked, moving forward to where I saw the child.

"Nothing yet, if anything changes I'll let you know," he promised.

In silence, we moved in sync and turned into a cell and there tucked in the corner is the blonde. I let go of Jayce's hand and knelt down to move forward on her level.

"Hi, I'm Raven," I said lightly, "what's your name?"

She glanced around the room, checking the corners for something, before she opened her mouth, "Grace."

"Oh that's a pretty name," I said to her and noticed that she was eyeing Jayce. "That's my boyfriend, Jayce, he is a nice guy."

Grace didn't say anything, just returned her eyes to me, "She will take him."

"Who will take them?" I asked, not moving closer to spook her.

"Lucy," rolled off her lips.

"Do you know which room is hers?" I asked, doing my best to control my breathing so I didn’t freak her out.

She nodded and glanced at Jayce.

"He can't go. She will collect him. He will be stuck here with us if he does."

“‘Collect him?’” I asked, wanting her to clarify. Could she mean the trophies that the serial killer turned her victims into?

If so, I didn't like the sound of that.

“She keeps people like dolls… she kept us,” she said in a sad voice. My heart ached for this poor little girl.

"What did she say?" Jayce questioned from the doorway.

"You and the boys need to leave. Then she can tell me where her room is," I admitted, not taking my eyes off of the little girl.

"That sounds like a trap, Raven," he tried to reason with me. Jayce knew what I was thinking.
