“Everything, duh.”

“He didn’t say much, just that he felt more himself when he was near me and not just because I remind him of Iris. He didn’t tell me much about Stella, just that she was delusional about them dating and that he did die in the fire. Lucien reached to touch my cheek and I felt it but he didn’t.”

The two of them are quiet as the information sinks in.

“Well, I still think that Stella had something to do with the fire. If she was in love with Lucien and was jealous of him and Iris, that is the motive right there,” Jayce says, as he pushes his glasses up on his nose.

“I hope the scryer can find ghosts. A solid direction would be fucking nice,” Eli adds.

“Let’s not tell her that, just tell her that we need to find Stella Walker and Lucien Wolf. Maybe even Iris. I think it’s best that we don’t let her know about our gifts if we can help it.” Jayce states.

“I’ll do my best but if a ghost comes up to me and I don’t know they are a ghost I can’t help if she notices. None of us are used to our powers yet,” I remind him.

“Fair enough, I’ll try and give you a heads up,” Eli says, bumping his shoulder into mine.

“Okay, we have a game plan. What are we going to do once we find the ghosts?” Jayce asks.

“Let’s take it one step at a time. We don’t even know if scrying works on ghosts, if it does and we find their locations, we will make a plan of attack and get them some closure,” I say.

“Perfect and I think that dimly lit shop is where we are headed,” Eli tells us.

I called earlier and made an appointment, but not many people were milling around, so maybe it wasn’t needed.

A Getting Witchy sign hung over the top of the door and window. Up for display were some candles of varying colors, crystals, tarot cards, and books on the occult. This was the only place that gave off the witchy vibe as it was painted black and stood out with all the white and cream buildings around it.

“Yep, I’d say so. To be honest, I would be a little scared to go in if it was a vanilla-looking place. This feels right and homey,” I comment.

“That’s only because you like the color black for everything,” Eli snarks.

“Just like my coffee and my soul,” I shrug with a little smirk. “Maybe I’m secretly a witch.”

“Well, I wouldn’t have you any other way.” Jayce winks. “But I think I’d know. You’re awful at secrets.”

This widens my smile, before I can reply, a gorgeous woman with flaming, red hair and sparkling, emerald green eyes opens the door.

“Ah, Raven, you are on time. The spirits told me you were here,” she smiles wide, revealing her pearly whites.

“And you must be Jinx. Thank you for agreeing to meet with us today,” I smile as she waves us into the store.

“Come, the spirits say it’s time to start. Let us go before they change their minds.”

Jayce raises an eyebrow at her words. I just shrug, so far, I don’t see anyone else in the store with us.

“I feel a presence around the three of you. Have you recently been haunted?”

I chose my words carefully, “We were in an accident after we went on a ghost tour on Halloween. Do you think that something followed us?”

“There is no doubt about that, but the energy is light and loving, not dark or angry. So, that in itself is good news. Now, you said that you wanted to scry for a few people. I will not ask questions, but there is a disclaimer I must make. If any harm comes to these people and I’m linked to you three, I will give the police information of what we did here today. I don’t have any reason to think you are going to harm anyone, just for legal reasons,” Jinx says as she walks to the back of the shop before stopping at the table and chairs. There is a map of the town already covering the tabletop.

“Covering your butt is a smart move,” Jayce comments, “but you are correct. We are just searching for people we can’t seem to find. Nothing more.”

“Then let’s get started,” Jinx states as she pulls out a purple crystal on a rope chain. “Who is the first person you’d like to locate?”

“Lucien Wolf,” his name rolls a little too easy off my tongue.

Jinx holds the crystal over the map and says his name over and over until the crystal starts to swing in a circle, until it stops on top of the burnt university.

“That’s an interesting place to be, is he the only one?”
