The sight of him alone fills me with anger. He’d been nothing but terrible to Pandora, blamed her for her mother’s death, and abused her.

“What the fuck do you want? Where is Pandora? What did you do to her?” I scream at the spirit.

The guys all run in to see me talking to the mirror and they know I’m not alone. That or they just accept that I’ve lost my mind completely. Because, most days, that’s how this power feels.

“He made me, I didn’t want to but I didn’t have control of my movements,” he tries to explain. It’s more of a plea than anything.

“Who is he? What did he make you do? Where is Pandora?” I ask, begging him for a lead we can use. My knuckles go white as I grip the counter to stop myself from screaming again.

The pale impression of my uncle starts to flicker and fade but he looks as if he is yelling something. I’m not great at reading lips but it almost like he was mouthing he was sorry before he disappeared.

Eli is the first to wrap me in his arms, his husky voice asks, “Your uncle?”

Tears burn in my eyes but I try to hold them back. I will not cry for that man. He said someone made him hurt my cousin, but I’m not one hundred percent that I can trust his words to be true.

“I just want to put my cousin to rest,” I whisper. “He knew something but faded too fast.”

“And we will,” Jayce promises as he lays a hand on mine and Lucien does the same on the other one.

“I don’t care what happened, she deserves better than her father gave her,” I say, easing my hold on the cabinet.

“You do care, but regardless, you will be the one to find her and give her the peace she needs,” Lucien speaks up, giving my hand a little squeeze. It’s reassuring, but I wish it was enough to quell this awful sadness and pain. I feel over it all.

“That bastard said that he didn’t want to do it, that someone made him. So, we need to be more careful, my uncle may have had a partner,” I tell them.

"The cameras will help some, but we won’t let our guard down,” Eli promises.

There is a knock on the main door.

“That will be breakfast,” Lucien muses as he lets my hand go. “I’ll get it all settled at the table and you join me once you're ready.”

He leaves me with Jayce and Eli and they don’t move away from me.

“I’m fine. I promise. I’m just not used to seeing the dead like I have and now that asshole is coming to me. It just shook me. If the spirits are around us, we need to watch you, Eli. Don’t want you breaking any furniture,” I tease playfully. My voice sounds off and they likely know I’m trying to be calm when I feel anything but.

“One time and I can’t live that down?” he asks, grinning into the back of my neck where he gives me a little nip.

“Don’t start that or we won’t leave this room,” I warn him as he does it again.

“I want in on that,” Jayce pipes in.

“We can wait till later. I know you won’t admit it but you’re still sore from the fun yesterday, aren’t you?” Eli asks, looking at me in the mirror.

My cheeks flush a little at the reminder of the glorious start to the night out. “Maybe,” I squeak.

“Come on, Jayce,” Eli says releasing me, and I miss his warmth already. “Lucien was nice enough to order breakfast, we shouldn’t let it get cold. Besides, we have forever to please our girl.”

Jayce gives me a peck on the cheek before he follows Eli. They don’t close the door but I don’t care. My head is pounding harder now that I talked to my uncle and let anger get the best of me. I make a quick mental note to keep pain meds on me at all times now.

I look at my reflection and talk to my cousin. “Pandora, I know you’re still out there. I want to give you the peace you deserve, but dear cousin, if you can give me some clues on where you are, that would really be helpful. My guys and I will find who did this to you. I promise you that.”

There’s a presence here, I can feel it. But it’s too weak.

That means I won’t be getting answers until later and that will have to be alright. I know what we need to do now but I’m not sure I can even do it.

When I join the others, they’re already arguing over bacon. Though, Jayce snags a few pieces for me while Eli is distracted.

“Thanks,” I tell him as I sit. “And thanks for breakfast.”
