Our bodies are still tangled and slick with sweat. Ella runs her fingers through my hair, and my heart races when I see a look of pure bliss on her face.

I can’t help but smile at her as she gazes into my eyes.

“So you have blue eyes.”

“Yes.” I pull her close, my heart racing and my breath ragged as the bond between us grows stronger with every beat of my heart. “More importantly, you claimed me.”

I know it’s more than just a knot; it’s more than her sinking her teeth into me. It’s the connection shaped through much more than lust. It’s love and trust, as well as the primal need that can’t be denied.

“You’re mine, Gabe,” she whispers softly, a faint smile playing on her lips. “Now you’re free from your troubles, soon you can make me yours.”

Chapter 32

Ella

Opening my eyes, I see Walker resting on his elbow, his eyes focused on me, studying my every move.

Jake tucks himself behind me, tightening his hand around my waist.

“Is the house clean?”

With a simple nod, Walker provides the answer without uttering a word.

“And the bodies? How many was there?”

“Five and they’ll never be seen again.”

“What did you do to get rid of them?” I ask.

It’s not macabre and I’m glad they’re dead, but I want to know for sure I’ll never be in that position ever again.

“You don’t need to know. You only need to know you’re safe and so is Gabe.”

I glance around, my heart racing, desperately searching for his face. “Where is he?”

Jake’s warm breath tickles my neck as he murmurs, “Making us breakfast. He wanted us to have some time together.”

“Seeing him like that…” I look down at my shaking hands. “It sent shivers down my spine,” I mutter. My shoulders sagging as I sigh. “I know I should’ve stayed in the panic room, and I’m sorry.”

Walker’s eyes soften. “It’s okay. I’m just glad you’re both safe.”

As Jake’s hand tightens around my waist, I can’t help but feel a surge of warmth and security. “You’re safe now. You don’t have to worry about anything anymore.”

Trying to maintain my composure, I nod while tears well up in my eyes. “I know, I just... I can’t believe Gabe was so close to dying.”

Walker’s eyes meet mine. “You were too, but it’s over now, and you’ll never be in that position again. You know we’re here for you.”

Jake’s hand moves up to my cheek, his thumb brushing against my tear-stained skin. “We’ll make sure you’re okay, baby. You’ve got a pack now, and we’ll make sure you’re always safe.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I catch sight of Jake as I glance over my shoulder. “Is that what you want?” My longing for this pack is intense, yet I realize I should’ve sought Jake’s approval before asserting my ownership of Gabe.

He nods. “Of course. This is home. I feel it.”

“The house?” I ask.

“The pack ... you, Walker and Gabe. We’re home. Walker and Gabe are our pack. Our family. You’re our omega, and we’re your alphas.”

I smile through the tears. “Thank you,” I say, my voice croaky. For the first time in what seems like an eternity, I close my eyes and find comfort in the world. “Thank you.”
