She laughs, that bright familiar sound instantly putting me at ease. “What can I say? I like nice things.”

A tall, handsome man appears from below deck. I know he’s a beta, but damn, with his physique, he looks like an alpha. He catches Ava’s eye and smiles warmly at her. She goes to him, wrapping her arm around his waist.

“This is Seb, my ... well, he’s my everything,” she says with a contented sigh.

Seb smiles at Ava and turns to us and gives a little bow of greeting. “Welcome to our little home,” he says, his voice carrying the crisp, clipped tones of an English accent.

Walker, Gabe, and Jake regard him coolly, their alpha instincts initially on guard around this new male presence.

I step forward, placing a reassuring hand on Walker’s arm, sending loving thoughts through the bond. “This is Ava’s mate, her family. And he’s our family, too.” He meets my gaze.

Slowly, I feel the tension easing from all my mates as they realize Seb poses no threat. “It’s wonderful to finally meet you, Seb,” I say genuinely.

“This boat is something else,” Jake says, finally relaxing as he takes a seat.

“Thanks.” Ava takes the package that I offer to her. “Is it in here?”

“And a few more things for you to try out,” I say.

Ava laughs and places the package to one side. “I’ll look later. Now we’re going to have lunch and catch up before you leave to view homes on the island.”

“How do you know?” I ask, surprise laces my tone.

“When Walker called to let me know you were coming to the island, he asked me for some advice on finding a nice home here. Obviously, I’m so excited that you’ll be vacationing that I couldn’t turn that offer down.”

I turn and smile at Walker.

“What else did you discuss?” I ask.

“Babies...” he says without faltering.

“Yes, when will I be an aunt?” Ava claps her hands. “The first of those six babies you want.”

Three alphas wait patiently for me to answer. I shrug my shoulders. “I want the business to be a success before I think about it.”

Walker sighs. I know he is worried because of his age and I understand, but this is my dream.

“Unfortunately, time isn’t on our side, so after lunch we’ll be viewing the properties,” Walker says, changing the subject, and I breathe a sigh of relief.

“But you’re coming back on Sunday,” Ava checks.

“And every day until the day of our flight,” Walker responds to a grinning Ava.

“Then let’s have lunch.”

After spending a couple of hours with Ava and then traveling the island to view three properties, one in the south of the island, two on the northwest coast, we finally had dinner and then made it back to our hotel.

“I’m exhausted,” I say, turning on my heels and flopping backward onto the bed.

“Oh,” Jake says, disappointment laces his tone. “I thought... We thought.” He turns to Gabe.

“Let her sleep,” Gabe replies.

Disappointment floods through the bond, and I dart upright and stare at Gabe and Jake.

“No, I’ll sleep like a baby afterward,” I say, scooting to the back of the bed, giving them room to join me.

“Are you sure you’re ready?” Walker checks.
