Page 43 of Knot so Sweet

My mind drifts off, and just when I’m about to ask a question, a bedroom door swings open, revealing a luxurious round nest with a canopy of silk drapes.

The nest is layered with beautiful fabrics, ranging from silk to cotton, cashmere to lace. And I can’t even count the number of pillows that encircle the nest.

A purr slips from my mouth as Gabe lowers me onto it. As soon as I’m on it, the gentle sway lulls my aching body into a state of pure relaxation.

I feel vulnerable as I wait on the bed - the feeling heightened by being watched by the three alphas who stand at the foot of the nest, ready to take me.

“Do you have any hard boundaries?” Gabe asks.

“Boundaries?”

“Anything you don’t want to do?” Walker adds. Until that point, he’d been lurking in the shadows.

I shrug my shoulders. “I don’t know what I’ll like or not.”

Walker’s eyes narrow and his lips press into a thin line. “You’ll be knotted. You’ll need that to get you through, but what about ass play? Or more than one alpha at time?”

My face burns. I grab a cotton sheet and hold it against me. “Can I have some of your clothes? I need to get used to your scents.”

“Of course,” the professor removes his white shirt and I gasp at seeing his toned physique. He isn’t as big as Jake and certainly not as big as Walker, but his body is like an athlete. Lean, toned, and my mouth waters.

“I think she likes the look of you naked,” Walker says, a hint of humor in his tone.

In a flurry of movement, Jake yanks off his white tee-shirt, revealing a sheen of sweat on his chest. I grab it when he hands it to me. Inhaling his scent with a purr as I wait for Walker to remove the black shirt he is wearing today.

When he doesn’t give me it straight away, I groan and close my eyes as another bout of pain slams into my core. “Please.”

He unbuttons his shirt, one slow motion at a time. He’s in no rush to push it off his body, but when he does, my mouth opens as I stare.

“What happened to you?” I whimper, crawling toward him and running my hand over his scarred body.

“I can’t tell you,” he whispers.

“You have to.”

He shakes his head.

“Then we have no future.”

He sighs and glances at Jake. He knows Jake will keep me forever unless he speaks.

“After we rescued you and your sister, your father went back in to kill the kidnappers.”

I nod. I know that much. I also know my father didn’t come out alive.

“I was caught in the blast, too. The scars are from the shrapnel. Your father wasn’t so lucky that he left with scars.”

“But you carried me away,” I say, remembering being in his arms as he soothed me. “Were you in pain?”

He nods. “You were in and out of consciousness from shock and the blood you lost from the cuts to your wrists. I had to save you rather than go after the kidnapper after he escaped.”

Tears stream down my face as a wave of dizziness washes over me, and I struggle to keep my balance. “I thought he died... The kidnapper. I thought he died.”

Walker shakes his head as Jake drops his.

“Why did my mom say he was killed?”

I feel like I’m about to be consumed as I stumble backwards on the nest, and the professor’s hand reaches out to take mine. As he rubs his thumb over my palm, a calmness washes over me, like my fears and pain are being absorbed by him.
