“We’ve got to go. I’ll call you tomorrow.” I tell her I love her and end the call.

Cade puts the carrier on the counter and buckles Aithan in before kissing my cheek. “She wanted you to wish your sister a happy anniversary?”

“How did you know that?” I’m shocked he would ever think of my ridiculous sister and her horrible husband.

Wrapping his arms around me, he captures my lips in a long kiss that leaves me breathless. “You don’t think I could forget the day I met you, do you, little lioness? It was the greatest moment of my life when you stepped into that clearing and saved me from certain doom.”

We stare at our perfect son. Cade keeps a possessive arm around me with his hand resting on my hip. It’s perfect. I have exactly the life I want, even if it’s nothing like the one I imagined. “I’m pretty sure you saved me too, my love.”

Kissing the top of my head, he hugs me tight. “If we weren’t already late, I’d take you to bed to see if we can make another one just like this.” He runs a gentle finger along our son’s cheek.

Aithan makes bubbles and smiles. We have no idea if he’ll ever be a manticore like his father, and we won’t know until he reaches five or six, but I have a feeling there will be at least one more monster in this house. My womb longs to be filled with another baby. “I’m all yours, and I would love to fill this house with a passel of manticore babies, but later, after the party.”

The beast inside him swirls in his eyes.

Rising on my tiptoes, I press my lips to his. “Later.” And I meet the monster’s sexy gaze.

He growls low and it eases into a purr.

Aithan yawns and his eyes drift closed.

Ever so gently, Cade places the carrier on the floor in the living room. He pulls me close and runs his hands over my ass, hauling me in so I can feel his cock straining against his jeans. “We can’t wake the baby. No one will notice if we’re a bit later than late.”

Wrapping my legs around his hips and my arms around his neck, I wish we were already naked. “How did I ever get so lucky to find you in a world full of humans?”

Just a few strides later, he carries me into our bedroom. The beast growls. “You are my mate. If you didn’t find me, I would have hunted the earth for you.”

As he lays me on the mattress and stares into my eyes, I know that it’s true. Nothing could have kept us apart. Not even Derek and Melony had that kind of power. We are meant to be. This is our destiny.

Thank you for reading Cade and Leona’s story. I hope you love them as much as I do. I have thoroughly enjoyed writing all my monsters and the ladies they love.
