“Girl, you have no idea,” Freya implied, fanning herself.

“Ok, spill all the tea,” Heather insisted. “I’m tired of hearing Sara complain about Greg. The guy is a solid ten and she knows it. She’ll just complain about not having anything to complain about if we let her.”

“Hey!” Sara barked, but laughed at the same time.

I couldn’t understand the relationship between these girls, even if my fucking life depended on it. But the smile on Freya’s face said it all. I’d better get used to them, because it was a package deal.

Freya was worth it.

Chapter 45

Freya

How long had it been since we’d been on a real date?

With all the stuff going on, Ash and I had been so wrapped up in jobs and fixing relationships that we haven’t had time to go anywhere or do anything fun. We were lucky to just fall into bed together every night and maybe get some hanky-panky in before one of us passed out from exhaustion.

“You’re not telling me where we’re going?” I asked for the fifth time as I finished getting some mascara on my eyelashes.

“Nope,” he called back from the shower.

I had to admit, there was something really sexy about a man who came home from work smelling like engine oil and metal. Not to mention that mentally and emotionally, he’d been so much happier since starting back at Dad’s dealership. Evidently Dad had hired him and given him a promotion. He was running the whole auto department.

He’d been ganging up with Dad to get me back to working there myself, but it was a hard thing to consider after things had deteriorated last time. Could I really base my future and employment on not having another argument with my father? Would I still be able to handle working with him if we did?

Those were questions I didn’t have answers to, so I’d put it off. The raise would be excellent, and so would the position of daytime general manager. I knew how to do the job, but actually holding the position would be amazing… But would Dad actually be able to give me the respect I needed?

Ugh.

“Not even a hint?”

The water shut off as he chuckled, getting out of the shower. I wasn’t a dummy. I turned to watch him get out, the shower curtain sliding open to reveal his tight, water slicked body.

I wolf whistled at him, which made him smile.

“Better be careful or we’ll end up going nowhere,” he mumbled, wrapping a towel around his waist.

“When was the last time we spent the whole weekend in bed?” I countered. “That sounds like a great idea!”

He groaned like he was being tortured.

“Stop! I’ve been planning this weekend for three weeks! I won’t let your magic vag and wicked mouth distract me from the mission.”

“What mission?” I lifted my eyebrow.

Was there more to this weekend than just going on a long date?

“It's confidential.” He drew his fingers across his lips, zipping them closed before moving out of the bathroom to dress.

“You suck!” I yelled after him, which made him cackle.

“You’ll be singing my praises in about, oh, six hours.”

“Six hours?” I whispered to myself.

What was six hours away that I’d be singing praises?

Curious.
