Both of them came on stage. They stepped up to the podium and Devlin and I backed up. We watched Sinclair and Rohan from behind.

Well, I didn’t look at Sinclair, but I scented him, and my body went into high alert. My pussy quivered and slick began to leak out of it. Oh, was Devlin going to put this together? Sinclair’s leg jiggled nervously behind the podium, and I directed my gaze entirely onto Rohan.

“Sinclair, do you want to comment on your statement that Prince Devlin was incapable of mating an omega?”

“Well,” Sinclair was amused, “he hasn’t bitten the little sparrow yet, has he?”

“Obviously, Prince Sinclair never said that,” spoke up Rohan.

“Right,” said Sinclair. “Right, never said that. Wouldn’t say anything like that. Maybe he should bite her, though, because she smells good, ladies and gents. I wouldn’t mind a taste.”

The reporters swarmed. “Could the omega be shared amongst you princes in a pack?” asked someone.

“I wouldn’t say no to that offer,” said Sinclair.

“Prince Devlin suspects he has a pair bond with her,” said Rohan. “So, that is unlikely.”

Sinclair turned around to look at me.

I looked away. I could feel his gaze on me.

“Pair bond my ass,” he said.

And slowly, his scent overrode the vestiges of whatever Rohan had done to me. I felt my gaze pulled up, slow and sure, until I was looking at Sinclair.

Sinclair chuckled. “See that, Devlin? See how she responds to me?”

Devlin’s fist slammed into Sinclair’s nose.

THE SCUFFLE WENT on for only a few minutes, but they felt like hours.

Devlin was stronger than Sinclair, who didn’t even really fight back, just taunted Devlin in a throaty voice. “Oh, yeah, that’s right, give it to me, big boy. You can do it harder.”

Devlin hit him three or four more times.

Sinclair was bleeding, laughing, gesturing to his face. “One more, one more.”

Rohan pulled Devlin back, one thick arm flung across his chest.

“Maybe a kiss this time?” said Sinclair with a nasty grin.

“Fuck you,” said Rohan.

Sinclair touched his face. He looked at the blood on his fingers.

The Queen was there, in the middle of it. “The sitting room. Ten minutes,” she said in a very soft voice.

I was aware now that the reporters were all being herded out of the room.

The Queen looked at the alphas, disapproval all over her. She sighed heavily and walked off, shaking her head.

“Shit, Devlin,” said Sinclair. His hands were shaking.

“You think I’m going to apologize?” Devlin shook Rohan off. “You don’t look at her. You don’t talk about her. You don’t think about her.”
