I SHRUGGED THE stupid bodyguard off of me, and as I did, I realized… why the fuck did he smell like Devlin? Then I got closer to him, nostrils flaring, and I caught the bodyguard’s scent.
“Shit,” I said, going back into the bedroom.
Devlin had the covers up over the omega’s body now, and he was pulling her into his arms. “Rohan, I know this whole situation is changing everything for us, but I really need you to back out of it for now.”

I turned to look at the bodyguard. He’d been in on the sex with the omega. Devlin had shared the omega with this guy, a perfect fucking stranger, and resisted sharing the omega with me. That stung.
“I know, Rohan,” said Devlin. “But you would have let me bite her. You can’t say no to me, and we both know it.”

“We might need to wait until after the bite, though,” said Devlin. “Do you mind that? If you’re feeling lonely, maybe you should find someone else, like we both do sometimes.”
This went through my body like a cold gust of wind, because I did not do this, not really. I told Devlin that I wasn’t exclusive to him, because it made me sound pathetic otherwise, but I found being with other people unsatisfying and ultimately not worth it in the end.
