“Look at her, Felix,” she breathes, cradling our daughter in her arms. “Isn’t she perfect?”

I lean in closer, examining every inch of our little miracle. She’s so small and delicate, yet the strongest force I’ve ever encountered. “She’s absolutely beautiful.”

The next few minutes — or is it an hour? — are a blur. Finally, Lily and the baby are all checked up and nestled in bed, cozy and tight.

“You are amazing.” I kiss Lily’s forehead. “I can’t believe she’s here. We have a daughter.”

“We need to pick a name for her. How about… Rose? For the gardens at the palace. Your mother’s roses.”

I try it out. “Rose… It’s perfect.” I kiss Lily’s forehead again. “My two beautiful flowers.”

As I stand there, holding Lily’s hand and gazing down at our healthy baby girl, it’s as if every piece of the puzzle that was my life has finally fallen into place. The wild parties, the endless string of women — they all pale in comparison to the happiness I feel right now.

And my past? That doesn’t really matter.

The life we’ll create together as a family, the lessons we’ll teach Rose, and the memories we’ll make, those are what matter.

I used to be a playboy prince who sought happiness in all the wrong places, but now I’ve been transformed by the love of two extraordinary women — Lily and our little Rose.

This is where I belong, and this is where I’ll stay. Forever.

EPILOGUE

LILY

Three months have flown by since Rose’s birth, and today marks her first adventure abroad. I take a deep breath as we disembark from the private jet in Albavarre, the familiar scents welcoming me back.

Felix carries our precious baby girl in his arms, her tiny face peeking out at the strange land.

“Welcome home.” I give Felix a gentle kiss on the cheek. He grins, his brown eyes twinkling with excitement.

“Welcome home indeed,” he replies. He looks at Rose. “Today, you meet your grandparents — my parents.”

She makes a cooing sound and bobbles her head. Of course, she doesn’t understand, but it’s adorable to pretend she does.

We climb into the sleek black car that’s waiting on the tarmac, ready to take us to the palace. As we drive through the familiar streets of Albavarre, memories from my first time here flood back to me.

I point out my favorite spots to Rose, knowing that she doesn’t understand what I’m saying, but I’m excited to share this part of my life with her nonetheless.

“Look, Rose.” I motion towards a charming little café on the corner. “That’s where your daddy and I used to have breakfast together. And over there is the park where we took long walks and talked for hours.”

Felix chimes in, adding his own anecdotes about each location we pass. “And that’s the flower stand where I bought your mommy a bouquet. I thought she was the prettiest girl I’d ever seen, but I was too afraid to say it.”

“Thank you for showing us your world.” I give him a tender kiss on the lips.

He holds my gaze for a moment, then looks down at Rose, who has started to drift off to sleep in his arms. “Anything for my two favorite girls.”

The palace looms ahead, its grandeur taking my breath away even after all this time. As we make our way to the entrance, the butler approaches us with a warm smile.

“Your Highness, Miss Lily, baby Rose.” He bows his head slightly. “The king and queen are having tea in the back gardens. They are eagerly awaiting your arrival.”

“Thank you.” Felix adjusts Rose in his arms, then looks down at me. “Shall we?”

“Of course,” I say, feeling a thrill of anticipation at the thought of seeing Felix’s family again.

We walk through the opulent halls, passing exquisitely painted murals and intricate tapestries that tell the story of Albavarre’s rich history. As we step into the back gardens, I’m struck by the vibrant colors of the flowers in full bloom, their sweet fragrance filling the air.

Felix’s parents are enjoying their tea under the shade of a massive oak tree, but they’re not alone. To my surprise, my own parents and Meg are sitting with them.
