“And I need some bridesmaids to come with me, so Kate, Evan, June, Bella, and Cameron... would you do me the honor of being my bridesmaids at my wedding?” I asked the older girls who had either just turned 20 or 21. They all agreed happily, and I was about to say something when Floral raised her hand and spoke.
“W-what about the rest of us? Are we going too?” She asked, and the other girls also looked at me with worry that I would say no.
I sighed dramatically. “Girls…” I trailed off, and a few of them already looked close to crying.
“…Of course, you’re coming!” Their faces, which were once pale and sad, brightened, and they all squealed happily. Turning to Maia, she gave me a look of happiness as she already knew the question coming.
“And Maia.. would you like to be my maid of honor?.. Being that you are one of my only close female friends,” She nodded and hugged me.
“Of course I will!” I chuckled softly. After seeing all the other children in the building, I said goodbye and left. I opened the front door to see Nathan standing there, looking like a maniac once again.
“I’m hungry… Let’s get something to eat.” I suggested, and he nodded, liking the idea as well. He drove us to the local plaza and found parking across the street. We stepped out of the car and crossed the street when the light turned green.
As we were in the middle of the road, the car beside us started beeping its horn quickly, making me jump and look over to their car. The woman pointed behind us, and I froze as I turned to see a car coming almost a hundred miles an hour straight for me. Nathan, who was a bit ahead of me, turned to see as well, and his eyes bulged out of his skull.
He screamed. “Brielle, watch out!” His voice quickly shook me from my daze, and he grabbed me as he attempted to push us out of the way. And then it went dark.
“Out of the way! I need an open room stat!”
I opened my eyes slowly to see a hallway ceiling going by extremely fast. My breathing was strained, and I tried to move, but it was difficult.
“WHERE THE HELL IS SHE!”Someone’s voice boomed through the building, and I looked over to see doctors and nurses pushing me along.I’m in a hospital?
“Sir, we can’t allow you to see her right now-”
“BULLSHIT! NO ONE IS KEEPING ME FROM SEEING MY FUCKING WIFE.NO ONE.”I felt someone grab my hand, and I looked over to see Killian walking beside the moving hospital bed.
“K-Killy?” I barely whispered, and he looked over to me.
“I’m here, darling. Stay awake for me. I don’t want to see those pretty eyes close again.”
“D-don’t l-leave me,” I whispered, and he shook his head as he squeezed my hand harder.
“I am not going any fucking where. Do you understand me? I won’t be going anywhere, alright?” I nodded my head and slowly started to lose consciousness again, and I didn’t even notice we were in the hospital room.
“Her vitals are not looking good, and the baby’s heartbeat is unresponsive.”
“Excuse me? You better find the little fucker’s heartbeat and fix my wife, or I’m going to go FUCKING INSANE!” Killian yelled, and a few nurses made a move to pull him out of the room, but he practically growled as his hand never left mine.
“Put your hands on me… and youwill allface the consequences.” Turning back to me, he caressed the side of my face and whispered.
“Stay strong for me, love… please.” I attempted to nod my head, but it went dark again as the last thing on my mind were his pleading eyes.
Chapter sixty-two
Killian
“Killy, I’ll be fine. You worry too much..” Brielle commented as she pulled on her cardigan and looked over to me.
“Besides, I’ll have a terrifying 6-foot man to guard me all day..” Sitting back in my chair at my desk, I sighed.
“I don’t entirely trust Fuller to watch you as carefully as I want, but alright.” She rolled her eyes and took a seat on my lap, causing me to groan frustratingly.
“Brielle, I’m wondering. Do you want me to throw you on the bed and put another baby in you?”
She blushed at my choice of words and slapped my shoulder.“Stop Killian.”
“I’m serious, Brielle.” She sighed.
