“Well, you most likely will even if I say no, so.. Please lead the way.” Killian replied, and Benjamin led the three to the dining room. They all took a seat, and Benjamin left the room to get the first course. Brielle continued looking around, feeling slightly out of place since she had never gotten to experience such luxuries.

Benjamin came back with the first course on a tray and served them. Brielle and Delilah thanked him politely, and Killian thanked him as if it were a chore. Benjamin poured each of them water and excitedly left the room to call George.

Brielle took a small bite of the food on her plate, which made her moan softly at the taste. Killian, in return, coughed up a storm as he tried to swallow his water. Brielle turned to him, and he situated himself before he sounded like more of a fool. She took a few more bites, and he spoke.

“How is it?” He asked her, knowing full well what her answer would be, and she grinned.

“It’s delicious. Do you like it, Dede?” Brielle asked Delilah, who was busy gulping down her food. She blushed and nodded as both Killian and Brielle laughed at her adorableness. Benjamin returned to the room and gasped as he saw Delilah’s face. He immediately ran over to the child and picked her up from her seat. He set her on his hip, and she giggled.

“I just received my custom-made Mirasol Oblong tablecloth, and you, my darling, will not ruin it today.” He hurried to the nearest bathroom, and Brielle turned to Killian, who just held his hand up as if not to ask questions. She laughed lightly, and he smiled.

Standing up, he brushed himself off. “Give me a second, darling.” She nodded her head, and he left the room. Coming back in with a briefcase, Brielle looked at him in question. He set it on the counter and pulled out the paperwork.

“I wanted to speak to you about the contract you signed on your first day.” She looked over to the documents in his hand and back to his eyes. She didn’t know what to expect. What was the point of reading the contract when he was going to make her work for him no matter what?

“I’m assuming since you probably haven’t read the contract.. you don’t know what’s onpage six, down to the ninth section, and on the second paragraph?” She shook her head and bit her lip. She secretly hoped she didn’t sell her soul or anything of that nature. He set it on the table and leaned over, making her blush even more with his closeness and the scent of his cologne.

“Can you read this for me?” He asked, and she nodded before she leaned down to read silently.

“If deemed necessary, when traveling overseas or experiencing unanticipated events, the employer has the authority to require the employee to reside in his residence until further notice is brought to attention by the employer. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in possible termination, decrease in pay, etc.” She stopped reading as her small dose of hope from earlier was gone. She had basically sold her soul orsomethingof that nature.

“So I really did sell my soul to you,” She whispered, looking over to him, and he chuckled dryly as he stood straight and leaned against the table.

“I wouldn’t think of it as selling your soul… Think of it as giving it away.” He crossed his arms, and she sighed.

“Why did you suddenly bring this to my attention?” She asked, and he thought for a moment.

Because I want to see you under me-

Shrugging, he responded. “I have my reasons.”

“What if I don’t want to?” She tilted her head, and he rubbed the side of his face, concealing his amused expression.

“You could always just live on the streets and be out of a job forever.” She smiled as she bit her lip again. Even though she should be furious, what could she really do? This man could do many things, and possibly putting her out of work for the rest of her life was one of them.

“You know Killian… Blackmail isn’t a really good look for you,” She said with slight confidence, which quickly faded when he stood straight again and plastered a sinister grin on his face.

“On the contrary, darling.. I’d say it’s quite fitting. Besides..” He muttered, then placed both of his hands on the arms of the chair and leaned in. Brielle sat back against the chair quickly, and he went so close she could feel his minty breath on her lips as he whispered his following sentence.

“You know you love it.”Brielle was at a loss for words. Benjamin entered the room with a freshly cleaned Delilah and gasped at the scene.

“Oh dear!” Quickly hiding Delilah’s eyes in the crook of his neck, he left the room. Killian’s eyes glanced over to him for a second but went right back to Brielle, though she herself couldn’t take her eyes off him the entire time..

He tilted his head to the side. “So, do you accept?”

“…It’s not like you’ve given me much of a choice.” Her voice came out just above a whisper, and Killian smiled as he thought of another way to make her blush even more.

“Glad we see eye to eye. What do you say we get started tonight? So you can get a bit…comfortable.”

Chapter ten

Brielle

I fluttered my eyes open slowly as the sunlight from the window hit them. After a moment or so, it finally clicked. This is Killian’s penthouse, and I’m in one of his many rooms. Sitting up slowly, I looked over to Delilah, who was enjoying the comfort of the bed a little too much. I pulled the duvet off my legs and blushed when I saw I was just in my sweater and underwear. Lifting myself off the bed, I walked around to locate my things.

I found my things on the small chair and next to it were two pairs of outfits, shoes and a note. I picked up the note and opened it.

“Good morning, darling. Breakfast will be ready by 7:45 AM. I had Linda bring these to the room while you were asleep. I hope they are to your liking. Killy,”I read it softly and smiled towards the end, though I forced it to drop as I realized the reason I was here reading the note was because of the man himself practically holding me hostage.
