“Quiet as a mouse she was. Didn’t even notice she was in the room half the time.” I let her down, and she ran back to the couch as I turned to Reginald and smiled.

“I assume you enjoyed your shopping trip, yes?” He asked, and I shrugged.

“Enjoyment is indeed one of the many emotions I experienced today, Reginald.” He chuckled softly and looked over to the kitchen.

“I would love to stay and chat, but someone has to make dinner tonight, and I can’t wait to watch!” He said happily, and I giggled as I took off my shoes and walked over to the kitchen. My hair was already in a ponytail, and I had a spaghetti-strap camisole underneath my sweater. Pulling the sweater off, I set it aside as Reginald furrowed his eyebrows.

“So this is how you cook? A black camisole, jeans, and light blue fluffy socks?” He paused for a second before turning.“Let me get my pen and notepad.”

I laughed at him as I washed my hands and unpacked everything I needed. Starting with the vegetables, I began to cut them up on the cutting board, and Reginald just watched as it probably amazed him that I knew how to use a knife. He watched me boil, steam, and bake silently, and after about 45 minutes to an hour later, I had finished tonight’s course.

After he helped me with most of the dishes, I noticed food stains on my shirt and sweat dripping down my face and on the edges of my hair, making them lay on my face and neck. I wiped my hands and looked at Reginald, who was setting down his notepad.

“Okay. I’m finished here, so I’m going to take a quick shower.” I spoke, and he waved me away.

“You go get clean, love. I’ll tidy up over here and set the table.” I thanked him and walked over to the stairs. On the way, I froze as Killian walked into the foyer and made direct eye contact with me.

The way he looked at me made me let me know that he was about to do something very impulsive, and I had absolutely no clue why. I looked and felt gross... I felt sticky, and my clothes were covered in various spices and oils.He started walking over to me, and I put my hand up, making him stop and raise an eyebrow.

“Killian, not right now. I’m covered in sweat, my shirt is filled with food stains, and I smell like teriyaki sauce.” He continued to walk over to me, grabbed my face with both of his hands, and leaned down to claim my lips with his lustfully.

Reluctantly, I found myself moaning into the kiss as he wrapped his arm around my waist. While pulling me closer, I internally sighed. As much as I wanted to push him away, I never was quite able to resist him. Gripping onto his suit jacket after a few seconds, he pulled away as he looked me up and down.

“You think I give a damn how you look or smell?”

“Um, I do,” I argued, tilting my head, and he rolled his eyes at me.

“You look beautiful wearing, smelling, and looking like anything.” My cheeks reddened, and I looked down at the ground, noticing our rather interesting contrast. My fluffy, comfortable socks next to her perfectly polished dress shoes.

He lifted my head with his finger under my chin, and I gulped softly as I looked into his possessive eyes. “We also never got to address last night’s..dessert.” He muttered, and my face immediately went red as I spoke abruptly, changing the subject.

“Can I go take a shower now?”

Chapter twenty

Brielle

I ran to my room almost immediately after his hold loosened on me, and I closed the door. Looking over to Delilah, sitting on the bed eating popcorn, she glanced over to me and smiled.

“You smell like chicken!” She giggled, and I laughed with her as I grabbed my towel and went to the bathroom to shower. Taking off my clothes, I hopped in the warm water and sighed as it went through my hair.

After the shower, I opened the door to see my baby still sitting on the bed watching TV. I blowdried my hair quickly and dressed in a fitted light grey long-sleeve lounge set with white fuzzy slippers. There was just something about fluffy shoes or socks in the fall that made me wear them constantly.

After putting away my belongings from the shopping trip, I noticed a small box gifted to me earlier, courtesy of Killian. Opening it slowly, I pulled out the diamond necklace and sighed internally. What was I to make of this gift?

On one hand, I knew it was simply because he wanted me to spend the money on the card he practically forced into my wallet. On the other hand, I was his.. ‘dessert’ only yesterday night. What if this was a way of saying thanks for cumming in my mouth.. his parting gift? What if I am actually being delusional?I thought to myself and shook my head as I put it around my neck.

Grabbing Delilah’s hand, we went downstairs to the dining room to see the already set table. I took a seat and sat Delilah next to me as Reginald walked in.

“I have to say, Brielle, I was a little skeptical when you said you knew how to cook, but I have to say I am very impressed.” He admitted as he came over and filled our glasses with water.

I shrugged my shoulders. “The cooking tutorials online help a lot.” He chuckled, and I saw Leo walk in and wave over at us.

“Don’t mind me. I’m just here for a plate.” He was pushed out of the way as Blaine entered as well.

“I’m here for mine, too.” Delilah turned her head to the voice and gasped when she saw him.

“UNCLE BLAINEY!!!” He made a fake gasp and opened his arms as he tilted his head.
