Killian stepped out of the car and held his hands out for Brielle. She took it, stepped out, and gazed up at the tall glass building as she spoke. “So, how long has Mr. Masahiko been an investor in your and Blaine’s joint enterprise?”

“For quite some time now. He’s always been a reliable source, and his company has never let us down. We are actually here to discuss his company renovations as they are doing so much in so little time, hence their need for assistance. He has invested so much in my company alone, which already makes him respectable in my book.” Killian explained as Brielle nodded.

Blaine stepped out of his private car and approached them as he sighed. “It’s always fun visiting this building… We’ve always had a ‘swell’ time here.”

“Why do you say it like that?” Brielle asked him.

“If Kiki can keep his temper under control.. you won’t have to find out.”

“I can control my temper, Blaine,” Killian refuted, rolling his eyes as Blaine shrugged.

“Tell that to someone who can’t read you like a book.” They both looked over to Brielle, and she folded her arms. “Are you implying I don’t know how to read Killian?”

Killian grabbed her by the hand and smiled. “If you were able to read me, love, you would be scarred for life.” She rolled her eyes at his antics, and the three of them entered the building.

They walked up to the receptionist, who quickly directed them to the elevator. The three of them entered, and Killian pushed the top floor. Once the doors opened, they were instantly greeted by an assistant who led them to the CEO’s office. Once the door opened, Mr. Masahiko ended his call with a smile on his face.

“Good morning, Mr. Russel and Mr. Porter.”He spoke in his native language, shaking their hands as they both responded to him. His eyes then shifted over to Brielle, and he smiled.

“Hello, Ms. Newman.” Brielle was taken aback for a moment. He was the first person, other than Killian and Blaine, to speak English to her in the last few hours, and he knew her name.

“Hello, Mr. Masahiko. It’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance.”

“Likewise.. I’ve heard a lot about you.”

“I’m sure you have,” She said, smiling, and he politely asked them to take a seat. Brielle took out her iPad and started writing notes, as they were courteous enough to speak English to keep her in the loop. She gave Killian a side glance and noticed he was surprisingly calm.

She sighed as her conscience spoke. “So far, so good..”

Chapter thirty-five

Brielle followed the men into a room as they prepared for the day’s first meeting. They entered inside, and she quickly started getting everything prepared, from the projector to the notepad and pen for each person, and she made sure to fix Killian’s seat the way he preferred it. His water or coffee on his left, his pen on his right, and his seat inched just a little closer to her, which was always on his left.

She internally laughed at how livid he had once been because she hadn’t sat by him at all during a meeting, as she had been so busy walking around. He was on edge the entire time, but the minute he asked her to have a seat, to which she complied, he immediately relaxed.

Once she finished, Shin Masahiko examined her, almost perplexed, as he was lost in his thoughts. His eyes drifted over to Killian, then returned to her. She looked up at him when she finally noticed his stare, and he glanced over to Blaine, who nodded.

Brielle was confused as the men were silent, but they all seemed to be having a conversation. Killian walked over to her slowly, and she looked over to him. He placed his arm around her waist, and she blushed as she gave a side eye to Blaine and Mr. Masahiko, who were in the corner looking anywhere else but at them.

“Killian, what’s wrong?” She whispered, and he gave her a smile as he whispered back.

“Just because I put my hands on your waist means something wrong?” She sighed, placing her hands against his chest as she gave the ‘oblivious’ men another side glance.

“Of course not. But knowing you, you always want more than a little hug.”

“Give me a kiss.” He said rather boldly, and she narrowed her eyes at him.

“No. There are two other men in the room who are waiting for this moment, but they are acting like they aren’t.” He glanced back at the two of them, only to see them look away as they walked out of the room. He looked back over to Brielle and shrugged.

“It’s a kiss for good luck..”

“Why do you need good luck? Not that my kiss will do anything for you.”

“I need it because I’m sure to go insane in the next twenty minutes.. It’ll do more than what I need.” He smirked, and she sighed, setting hands on the sides of his face as she brought him down to her height. She placed a small kiss on his lips, and he kissed her back, immediately feeling at ease. Once she felt him tighten his grip and kiss her harder, she pulled away.

“No more..” She insisted as she pulled away, and his eyes ran over her figure as she leaned up to his ear.

“Later.. we have a lot of meetings to cover, sir.” She whispered, and he was about to speak when the two men walked back into the room.
