"Mmm," she mumbled, nuzzling closer.

"Good morning."

She looked up, blinking sleepy eyes, her hair a mess. I thought she had never looked more beautiful. "Hi."

"How did you sleep?"

"Very good. I'm not ready to get up yet."

"Me either."

I could stay there all day, just holding her in my arms, breathing her in. But my alarm began to buzz and we both groaned. "Ugh, why did you set that?"

"Because I usually go for a run and work out before I wake Hailey."

She glared at me as if I had admitted to kicking old ladies for fun.

"You are the worst. You should just be lazy like me."

"Got to keep my heart happy. It needs exercise." My fingers drummed on her arm and then slid down to her hip, fiddling with her waist band.

"Well, you are going to have to stop touching me then."

"There are other ways we can get my heart racing." I pulled her tighter, kissing the side of her face.

She laughed. "Go away."

"You can't resist this," I teased.

"Resist what?"

"My rugged masculinity."

She giggled. "Oh god. Now that is a funny joke."

"Ouch. I'm wounded."

"Want me to kiss it better?" She leaned up, her eyes hooded, lips slightly parted.

"Yes."

"Where?"

"Everywhere."

She grinned, kissing my shoulder.

"It was a broad wound. A lot of places are sore."

She looked up at me, her lips brushing against my skin. "Is that so?"

"Yeah," I whispered.

"Well, we should do something about that then."

"Yes. We should."

I moved my lips toward hers and she met me halfway.
