I turn onto my side so that I’m facing her, my eyes fixed on her beautiful face. “Come back with me, Esme. Move in with me. Or fuck it, I’ll move in with you if you want. I don’t care where I live as long as it’s with you.”

Her eyes widen in surprise. Maybe even hope. “Really? You want me to move in with you?”

I don’t answer at first. She looks so fucking cute that I have to lean in and kiss her, firmly capturing her lips between mine before I pull away. “More than anything in the world. Move with me to Desire Falls.”

“I want to, Grant. More than anything. But what about my job? It’s kind of far…”

I shake my head. “Don’t worry about that, Esme. I have savings. Enough to look after you so you can focus on your novel.”

I can tell I’ve shocked her. Her mouth is hanging open as she looks at me. “Are you serious? You’d really do that for me?”

Another kiss, harder this time, full of promise. Full of love. “There’s nothing that I wouldn’t do for you, Esme. I want to make your dreams come true.”

She grins at me, wrapping her arms around my neck, and says, “You already have, Grant. You’re my biggest dream.”

“And you’re mine, sugar. Forever.”

Epilogue

Esme

5 Years Later

With a deep breath, I finally type ‘The End’ at the bottom of the manuscript. It’s taken a ton of hard work, but the third and final book in my regency romance series is finished, and I’m proud of every page. I sit there for a while, smiling at my computer screen like an idiot until I hear the front door open and close.

“Hey honey, I’m home,” Grant calls from the kitchen. “I bought us a couple of sandwiches from the deli.”

Grinning at the sound of my husband’s voice, I leap up from my desk and head out of my home office into the kitchen where Grant is standing with his back to me, filling our plates with two delicious-looking sandwiches. We’re lucky that he lives so close to the auto shop—it means he has time to come home for lunch every day, and I wouldn’t trade these romantic lunches for anything.

“Hey, you,” he says, turning to look at me. God, I’ll never get used to how gorgeous he is, especially in his oil-stained coveralls. “How’s the editing going?”

“I just finished. I’m sending off the finished manuscript after lunch.”

He puts the plates down and beams at me, pulling me into a hug. “Honey that’s amazing. I’m so proud of you. Damn, your readers are going to be happy.”

“I hope so.”

Nothing prepared me for the success of my first romance series. I expected a couple of sales at best, but Cordelia’s Lover has earned a loyal following. Thanks to the proceeds from the first two books in the series, Grant and I were able to move into a bigger house with a home office for my writing and plenty of bedrooms for our future family. Desire Falls is my home now, and I love every inch of this town, from the quaint main street to the gorgeous waterfall in the woods. I feel so blessed. So happy. And I could never have got here without Grant’s support.

“This is perfect timing,” he says, pulling out a chair for me and placing my plate on the table. “You finished your series just before your due date.”

I chuckle, placing a hand on my rounded belly. My due date isn’t for another three months, but Grant talks about it like I’m about to give birth any second. Right on cue, I feel a fluttering in my stomach as our baby boy moves, making my heart tighten with love and excitement.

“I can’t wait to meet him,” I say with a sigh. “Nine months is so long to wait.”

Grant kisses my cheek and then sits down across from me. “Only three months left now, sugar. He’ll be here in no time.”

I nod, smiling down at my bump: our baby boy, the perfect result of our love.

“I was thinking some more about names today,” I say, taking a bite of my sandwich. “What do you think of Oliver?”

Grant looks deep in thought. “Oliver. I like it a lot. Oli for short.”

“You think?” I ask, grinning. “Baby Oli?”

He nods. “Baby Oli.”

It’s perfect. I finish off my sandwich, still grinning at the thought of ‘baby Oli’ as I stand up from the table. I feel Grant’s eyes on me as I put my plate in the dishwasher, and I hear his sharp intake of breath.
