Melody plucked the tiny business card size envelope from the box and pulled out two cards. One was a business card, the other a scrawled note in his writing.

Pick the date and time, and I’ll be there.

Wrinkling her brow she studied the business card, noting it was a doctor's office. “I feel like I’m missin’ something.” She turned to him for guidance.

“That’s the doc I went to six years ago. When you’re ready–if you ever are–to take this crazy parenting journey with me, I’m all in.”

“You’d be willing to reverse it?”

“Yes, without question. If that’s something you want. Until then, it’s our special birth control loophole.”

“Nobody’s ever loved me as much as you do.”

“Good, I’m not letting you go.” He carefully slipped on the ring, his thumb running over the smooth band, and she squeezed his fingers. “C’mon, we’ll be late.”

“I’d follow you anywhere.”

They got to the club just as it began to fill up. Wes pulled Mel along through the throng of people to the bar for drinks.

“Hey, you made it, old man.” Colton shouted from behind the bar. Wes rolled his eyes as he looked down at a laughing Melody.

“Think that’s funny, do you? Wait until I get you home tonight. Then tell me how old I feel when I’m inside you,” he whispered into the shell of her ear. Chills ran over her skin from the words he’d uttered to her.

She nibbled on her lip as she looked up into his gorgeous brown eyes.

“What would you like to drink?”

“Cosmopolitan, please.”

“And a whiskey for me. Neat.”

They grabbed their drinks and waded through the crowd toward a quiet table in the corner. Wes plopped down then pulled Mel onto his lap.

“You know, there is enough seating for me.” She smirked at him.

“Yeah, but then I wouldn’t be able to squeeze this gorgeous ass all night long.” Wes leaned in giving her a quick kiss to her forehead before he took a sip of his drink.

Melody looked around at everyone milling about. She spotted Lexi and Noah across the floor talking to Jules. Her heart was happy seeing that she made it.

Mel spotted Graham as he began to approach their table.

“Hey guys, how’s it going?”

“Great,” Wes chimed in, “How’s work?”

“Can’t complain.” He took a sip of his beer. “I met a friend of yours, Melody. She came by the garage for her car.” Something flared in his eyes as he spoke.

“Oh yeah?”

“Her name is Julia.”

“She’s a good friend of mine. I actually just saw her over by the bar.”

Graham choked on a sip of his beer. “Huh, I didn’t know we would cross paths again.”

Wes chuckled silently into Mel’s ear, obviously knowing something she didn’t.

Graham took a second to glance around the club, stopping when he saw something or rather someone.
