It was still somewhat intimidating to be surrounded by so many Levovs in one place since Cat was the only family I had in attendance, but I was glad the hatchet had been buried. Working for them was going well, and thanks to my previous experience in the field, I was moving up on my own accord.

Of course, Andrei didn’t want the others to think he was showing favoritism towards me, but I had the feeling he was finally coming around. Ari too, to my surprise.

It was hard to believe I was once their enemy, and I had been terrified for my life since my job required me to work against them. How they were prepared to eliminate me at a moment’s notice due to how poorly I handled things before.

By some strange twist of fate, they were all attending our second wedding, and they were more than happy to be there. I never would’ve believed it if anyone were to tell me how everything would play out.

And yet, I was grateful for it. Anastasia didn’t have to pick between me or her family, and she was happier for it. We both were.

The slight breeze helped me feel grounded, and I could hardly wait any longer.

Finally, the music started, and Anastasia appeared at the far end of the aisle, wearing the most beautiful, elegant dress I had ever seen. That classic ivory silk hugged her curves beautifully, accentuating her perfection unlike anything else. The plunging neckline felt refined yet risky enough to suit her exceptionally, along with the finer details on the straps.

It was like night and day compared to the dress I had picked out for her before, and at that moment, I understood why the other one ended up shredded on the spare bedroom floor.

Everyone stood at once as she began walking toward me, and I was at a complete loss for words.

She was more than anything I ever could’ve dreamed of, and I knew I was the luckiest man in the world.

While I wasn’t much of a crier, I was willing to make an exception then. The emotions pricked at my eyes, and I didn’t have too much pride to admit that just looking at her made me teary-eyed.

As Anastasia looked at me, she offered me a giddy smile paired with tears gathering in her eyes. I was glad it wasn’t just me.

Watching her walk down the aisle was the most rewarding experience, and I knew we chose right. Even if having a second wedding was entirely unnecessary, every dollar was worth getting to witness her looking at me like that, glowing with every step.

As she joined us under the archway, Anastasia somehow managed to look even more striking than usual, and she flashed me that delighted smile as I reached for her hand.

Gazing at her as my heart swelled with the love I had for her, I couldn’t help but look back on how far we had come. From our night together in Europe—the very start of it all—to those sleepless nights where I couldn’t think about anything but her. She drove me crazy enough to warrant crafting an entire scheme just to have her back in my life.

Of course, it wasn’t perfect by any means, yet we managed to come back from all of it. We realized what was really important, and we found that connection again. That spark between us never faded, and because of it, we were both able to realize that we couldn’t be without one another.

I considered myself lucky every day that Anastasia never turned her back on me despite having every right to. She understood me and could see that I truly did mean well, even if it wasn’t executed as well as it could’ve been.

With both of us basking in the beautiful beach venue, surrounded by our family, the ceremony began.

By a long shot, it far exceeded the precedent I had set during our first makeshift ceremony, and I was more than grateful we had the chance to try again. That I was able to give Anastasia a day worthy of her.

From our exchanged vows to the kiss that sealed it all, it was exactly what we wanted, and I was more than happy to be a part of it.

Being graced with the opportunity to feel every ounce of passion we shared within that single embrace made me realize what I endured it all for. The exact reason why I made such a reckless move and put my neck on the line to be with her.

Despite the chaos, the panic, and the frustration, we were able to reach a place built from peace and happiness. We didn’t have to wonder and question things or put up a fight with one another. We had mutual trust and understanding, and with that alone, I knew we had the chance to make it together for the rest of our lives.

As our family shared their excitement for us while they stood and clapped their hands, Anastasia and I reflected that joy as we walked down the aisle together with everyone as our witnesses. I received plenty of claps on the shoulder as I went by, feeling more accepted by them with every passing day.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper wedding without a celebration after the fact, and thanks to some diligent wives in the family, everything was put together for us.

We ate a meal outside under a long pavilion that overlooked the ocean, talking with one another and exchanging stories. Live music was played for us, and the entire space was lit up with string lights as night set in. Overall, it was beautiful, and the perfect place to show my wife just how grateful I was for her.

When the food was no longer coming out, we cut the cake, and everyone stood around as they chatted or took in the incredible scenery around us.

There was no mistaking just how big the Levov family was. Between both sets of cousins, their wives, all the children, and even some distant relatives who didn’t want to miss out, there were more than enough people to make us feel like we’d never be lonely again.

While Catherine didn’t know very many of them, I was relieved to see as some of the wives stuck around her and didn’t let her experience the day alone. They seemed to accept her easily, and before long, she seemed to be having just as much fun.

Vik’s wife, Bianca, stood with us as she ate her cake and looked pleased with everything. “I have to admit, I was upset before when I heard you got married without a full ceremony, but this definitely makes up for it.”

“I’m so glad you could be here to witness it,” Anastasia said, reaching for her hand affectionately. “Today has been perfect.”
