Sarah looks at me with a smirk on her face before
speaking.
“We’re not cackling,” she says before bursting into
laughter again. I sigh in frustration - this is so fucking annoying. “What
did you find out now,” I ask exasperatedly.
Emma looks at me sheepishly before speaking. “Your
mom was just telling me how you used to put on her bras
and her heels and sing to Celine Dion,” she says with a
giggle
Sarah bursts into laughter once again while Ma tries to
take a drink while laughing uncontrollably.
“Ma, this is why I never brought anyone home to meet
you,” I say with a laugh as I shake my head.
Marco and Pops walk in and Pops sits in his recliner
while Marco walks over and kisses Sarah then her stomach
and sits on the floor with their baby.

Baby,that’s literally his nickname. I don’t think we
have called him Matteo more than twice.
I’ve never felt more at peace than what I feel right
now. It feels as if we’re just a normal family.
Ma stands up and does a stretch, “Well I better start the
dishes. Does anyone want dessert while I’m up?” Everyone
nods in unison.
Ma comes back in with a plate of cookies, she looks so
pleased with herself. I can’t help thinking how I can get out
of the family business. I want to provide Emma with a safe
place and not having to worry about someone hurting her. Emma catches me looking at her “What,” she asks
