“Basically three-quarters of everything your prick husband owns, yeah, I did the math.”

She nods, her mouth tensing. “Of course.”

A devilish grin curls up the corners of my mouth. “I bet it’s hard for you, trying to be civil with someone you think is a detestable asshole. But I’m afraid things are about to become worse.”

Those intelligent, uptilted eyes flash. “Worse?”

I stand up, holding her gaze. “Your offer is tempting, but I’m afraid it’s not sufficient.”

“Fucking maximizers,” she hisses.

“It is one of my many faults and probably a trait you’ll be quick to add to the list of things you hate about me. Or you could just decide this was all a waste of time and stop negotiations here.”

She shakes her head with a cynical smile on her face that says, “I should have known”.

I walk around the sofa behind her, placing my hands on her shoulders before I bend down to her ear. She’s small and fragile under my large palms, her scent of wild lilies wafting to my nostrils. I breathe it in, and my mouth waters. Fuck, how I want to feast on this woman.

“The question is, would I let you walk out of here again without a deal that suits me?”

She tenses under my touch. I’m pretty sure she stopped breathing, too. As for me, here I am, sinking to new lows just to get her in my talons.

I take in a deep breath full of her scent again, my pulse running wild. There’s something about Sirenna Carter’s smell that makes me want to lick her like fucking ice cream. I haven’t been able to stop thinking about her since The Rite, but I didn’t think she’d be such an experience in person.

“I thought we already established that I’m not only one of your enemies but also the biggest one. Now, you’re a smart woman, so surely you expected that walking out of here without striking a deal with me wasn’t an option.”

“Maybe I’ll take my chances,” she pushes out through her teeth, and my chest tightens at the possibility. It wasn’t the plan to want this deal more than she does, yet here I am, pulling the joker out of my sleeve.

“Then more people will suffer. I’m not beyond making things difficult for your dear friends’ lovers.”

She scoffs. “Jax and Declan? Those are powerful men. As powerful as you.”

“Almost. But not quite.”

“I’m sure they’d laugh in your face and tell you to give it your best shot.”

“Allow me to have my doubts. Anyway.” I stand to my full height, walking around the sofa back where we can see each other.

“Here’s what I suggest.” I pick up my drink from the table and stand before her, my legs brushing her knees. She tenses harder, cringing away from me. “It’ll take time, but I’ll get the drugs off the streets altogether.” I pause to watch the wonder taking over her eyes. Her mouth opens too, and fuck, I want to push my cock between those lips so badly. “I’ll take care of all the thugs coming after you, and I’ll leave New York Corp Bank completely in your hands, too.”

“You would do that?” Her voice cracks, and her eyes are wide with shock. “Why?”

“Because everything else will be under my control. When Joseph’s empire is out of his hands and officially in yours, you will sign that I’m your equal partner in everything.”

She tries to speak, but fails to for a few moments. Not surprising. I’m offering her a fantastic deal, beyond her wildest expectations.

“And what do you want in return?” she manages.

I shift my position, ensuring that my hips are now closer to her face, her eyes dropping to my fly. A second later, she begins to understand.

“You know, Joseph and I weren’t always rivals,” I begin in a sleek tone that I’m sure sends shivers down her back. “There was a time when we were actually almost friends. Things got sour about the time he met you, what was it? Five or six years ago? I told him from the start you weren’t right for him.” I flash a smile down at her. She leans against the back of the sofa, taking as much distance from me as she can, her eyes flitting between my face and my fly. I take the first sip of my drink, then offer her the glass with a look that says, “You’re gonna need it.” She’s already finished hers, so she takes it from my hand and downs it in a second.

“And why wasn’t I right for him?” she says hoarsely after the scotch burns away more of her inhibitions. “I wasn’t a gold digger or a sugar baby.” She points a finger at me, the glass still dangling from her hand. “I’ll have you know that I actually come from a good family.” She looks defiantly up at me.

“No, you were neither of those things. You were brilliant, ambitious, and had a fabulous future ahead of you. You’d been a talented entrepreneur since business school, and it was only natural for you to be fascinated by a successful older man. But that fascination couldn’t last forever. Sooner or later, his facade would begin to crack and crumble. Behind it, he was nothing but a useless bastard who took out his frustrations on you. Not to mention that he fooled you about his natural erections, too. He’d been using Viagra for years when he met you. I told him you’d be wanting a young, vigorous dick sooner or later.”

Her eyes crawl down to where I’m already working my fly as I speak. A gasp lodges in her throat when she sees the outline of my nasty-ass cock through the fabric of my pants. Oh, I’m going to make her choke on it so hard. Even though I’m not taking my eyes off her, I can sense Priest slipping out of the room, softly closing the doors after him. He knows what’s about to happen, even though it’s not something I do often. Women usually beg for the privilege of sucking me off, but I’ve been waiting for this for too long. I’m going to shove my dick down this woman’s throat if I have to force it.

“You know, watching you take that guy’s face at The Rite, I kept thinking of the wild flames of a bonfire. Do you mind if I call you that instead of Ms. Miller? Wild flame?”
