Seth laughed softly and took the phone from her. He frowned and blinked once. “Is that number right? It’s really cheap.” He looked at her. “Are you sure this isn’t a fake website? Something to scam your credit card details?”

“My friends recommended it. They’ve bought lots of stuff from it.”

Seth nodded slowly. “Are you done?”

“I think I can change my entire wardrobe with this haul, so yes.” She yawned softly and reached for her phone, but Seth moved it out of her reach. “What are you doing?”

“I just wanted to see what you bought,” he said while tapping on the phone.

“Andrea has a list of all your possessive traits. She’s keeping score. I think once it hits a certain number, she’ll be the one to raise an objection at our wedding.”

Seth shook his head. “I’m not telling you what you can or cannot wear.” He took out his phone, then turned his attention back to hers.

“You’re just paying for it.” She jumped up and snatched the phone back, but the payment had already gone through. “You didn’t even take out your card.” She frowned. “Did you memorize your credit card number?”

“You don’t remember your card number?”

“Who does?”

Seth shrugged.

Clary studied Seth’s face. “You have a supercomputer for a brain, don’t you?”

“Everyone’s brain is a supercomputer.”

She rolled her eyes. “This is why Elton thinks I’m after your money.”

“Just ignore him.”

Now that they were in their own corner of the IT department, Clary asked, “Should I have clarified that I’m not your fiancée? I just thought letting everyone get back to work was more important.”

“I’m more than happy for everyone to think you’re my fiancée.” He hooked his hand on her hip. “I’d love for you to agree to be my fiancée.” He cocked his head to the side. “Are you ready to go?”

“You’re done already?”

“It’s been three hours.”

“I’ve been shopping for three hours?” She checked the time on her watch. “Whoa.”

Seth laughed again.

“So you traced the hacker? Are we going to find him now?”

He shook his head. “I’ll deal with him another day. Aldric’s bugging me to get you home for dinner.”

Clary gasped. “Did you lock up the wine cellar before we left?”

CHAPTER 13

“You’ve got to be kidding.” Clary scanned the backyard where all the Andersons and Andrea were.

Two radiators were set up near two round tables that had been pushed together. A charcoal barbecue grill, which she assumed was new, stood several feet away from the table. Next to the grill was a small rectangular table with an array of meat and vegetables.

“We’re having a barbecue?” She looked over at Seth. “In winter? And you approved of it?”

“I told them it was too cold,” said Oliver, who had a jacket on over the cashmere sweater she had made Seth changed out of.

Aldric came over. “Oh, come on. It isn’t that cold.”
