“Will we be reinstated in our current positions after the temporary project?”

Clary nodded. “Depending on your performance while on said project. Any other questions?”

“I have one.”

Clary turned and blinked.

She wasn’t surprised to see the boys’ club. She’d expected them.

But Richmond Cloy?

He’d been in the boys’ club, but was usually the quietest among them.

“Boys’ club?” Andrea whispered.

Clary nodded.

“Why is he by himself?”

Clary wasn’t sure. She thought for sure the whole boys’ club would march down and have a showdown with her.

“Who the hell do you think you are?”

Clary didn’t bother to reply to Richmond. She turned and nodded at her new security team.

Immediately, Ken gestured for two of his men to move forward.

“What makes you think …” Richmond’s words faltered as the two guards strode toward him. “What … what are—”

“Richmond Cloy, you’re dismissed. The guards will escort you back to your office and you have fifteen minutes to pack up.”

“You can’t do this—”

One of the guards put a hand on Richmond’s shoulder and spun him around.

“Don’t touch me.”

The guards grabbed his arms and dragged him away.

“You can’t do this to me, Clary Fiore!” Richmond hollered, swiveling his head toward her. “Edward Eolenfeld can’t protect you from the board forever!”

Clary rolled her eyes and turned back to the compliance department. “Any other questions? Anyone else who would like to experience being dragged away?”

Several faces turned away or looked down as they broke into small smiles.

“All right. We’ll be making our way around after lunch.” Clary cocked her head to the side and strode forward.

“Should we ask security to keep a look out on the boys’ club through the cameras?” Andrea asked.

Clary was about to say no when she recalled what Seth said. “Yes.”

Andrea slowed her steps to talk to Ken. “We’re over-stretching the team a little,” she said when she caught up with Clary.

“We are?” She thought things were going better than expected. They had only needed to throw one person out.

The whole team of six, now four, had followed her in preparation for throwing out the boys’ club. She’d assumed they would all show up together.

“Are the boys’ club on the way?” Clary asked.
