“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have called you guys that. I’m just ---” I stopped because I didn’t know what I was.

Frost damn it all. They could’ve put one of those stupid feeling wheels that live in every therapist office in the world in front of me and I still couldn’t have narrowed down what I was feeling to one thing.

“It’s okay. If we’re asshats, tell us,” Duke said. “Seriously.”

“I can’t deal with that right now,” I shook my head. “Liam, what do we need to do to help Terrick?”

“You’re not gonna like my answer. Do you have a friend or someone you want us to call?”

I thought about Dakota and then Adrian. Then I shook my head. I didn’t want my business spread around anymore than it had already been. I wanted to steal the blankets that made up the nest and hide under them until someone fixed this.

“Okay. I believe the lore. I could talk all day about why I believe it, but if we can skip that it may save us some valuable time. I’m not saying he’s bad. I’m not saying he’s anything. What I’m saying is there are too many parallels to the story to ignore. If we rule out medical causes for his memory loss we’re going to have to help him dive deep into who he used to be. We’ll use social media. I’ll have Bobby call the High Priestess of the Lost Fang Coven. We might want to do that anyway. She’s his mom and might be worried about him.”

“I think we should wait and find out how he feels about that,” I said.

“Okay. We can wait to call her. What I meant is the only one here who convinces him to do anything will be you. You’re his true-mate and it’s not fair that so much of this falls on you, but that’s what’s happening. If you want to save him, you’re going to have to be on his side in a way that will probably feel like you’re not. No one likes to have their flaws pointed out. I think that goes double when you can’t remember them, but if we can help him, you get to keep him. If you don’t, I think he goes to Frost.”

The blood drained from my face, and I held my breath until Blithe squeezed my toe. I exhaled and let Liam’s words sink into my brain. My wolf whined and I swallowed down the sound once again.

“Hey, our parents made it through worse stuff, right?” Blithe asked, trying to rally my spirits.

“Yeah, but I think they’re probably smarter than both of us,” I sighed.

“Maybe, but we have them and us,” Blithe said. “When all of this is said and done I want you to tell me how I’m an asshat and I mean that.”

Chapter Eleven

Trista

“Turn your camera off,” Travis spat at me. “Seriously, you’ve lost your fucking mind! This is what got us into this mess in the first place.”

For the first time in a long time I ignored what my twin said. A lot of things had gotten us into this mess and Scott wasn’t my favorite person in the world. He thought he was a lot smarter than us and hadn’t even followed us on social media. Still, money and the current cluster fuck aside he was our brother and that made Terrick family. If my omega showed up needing this sort of help, I hoped he’d put everything aside and help me figure it out too. Sure, he wasn’t talking to me right now and I couldn’t blame him for that, but I knew the internet.

What I didn’t know was the location of the Lost Fang Coven and it didn’t seem to be anywhere online. Their High Priestess, Arrakia, had done a good job at protecting them at all costs. Hopefully, it wouldn’t cost her son more than she ever bargained for.

I stared into my phone until the record light came on.

“Hey all. I know I said I wouldn’t be posting again for awhile and this video is probably me digging my own grave with a lot of my family members. If you guys are watching this, know, I’m trying. I’m probably breaking a lot of pack ordinances that our cousin, Duke, could rattle off the tip of his tongue, but I think I have to this time.”

“Just so you guys know, I want nothing to do with this. This is all Trista,” Travis said off camera, but the mic still picked him up.

I managed not to shoot him the dirtiest look ever to be shot on Earthside as I continued to speak.

“A lot of you know that we don’t have the best relationship with---”

“Quit saying we!” Travis snapped.

“Oh! Fuck off, Travis! Either we’re a we forever or we’re not a we!” I snapped.

He shut up, but his scent said he’d rather clock me one. Maybe we’d fight it out like when we were kids later.

“Excuse my twin,” I said, keeping my eyes on the camera. “He’s not taking any of this well. I promise there is a point to all this. Tonight our little brother responded to a prince from the Lost Fang Coven. True-responded and this should be a happy occasion. It seems for either medical or magical reasons, he has some pretty severe memory loss. We’re trying to reach his mother and his other family members to let them know. I’m sure someone out there knows how to get in touch with High Priestess Arrakia or someone close to her. Maybe someone from the coven is watching me right now. If you are, Prince Terrick is safe, but he’s here. We have more information on his condition and I’m willing to talk to High Priestess Arrakia or anyone who can prove their connection to him through an official channel.”

I ended the video without my usual sign off. The dads would lose their shit later when they found out I made another video that had anything to do with Scott, but what else could I do? No one had called the coven yet and I wasn’t Bobby or Star. I couldn’t just call up a High Priestess of another group and speak with her. Frost knows my luck. I’d probably start another war.

I rubbed the bridge of my nose while the video uploaded. How had things gone so fucking upside down? It was a stupid video. It was supposed to be funny. I tucked my phone into my pocket and waited for someone out there to respond.
