“I'm okay.” I’m too nervous to have anything.

She sits beside me, her hands on her lap. There's a certain level of awkwardness between us. The air between us feels stiff, and I observe how she keeps rubbing her wrists. It feels good to know that I'm not the only one who is nervous.

“How was your date last night?” I say to make conversation.

She beams to my chagrin. “It was perfect. Everything a date should be.”

“If it was so perfect, why did you proposition me?” My words come out more harshly than I intended.

“Because I'm not looking for something serious, and neither are you.” She stands and faces me. “I need some wine. I'm sure you’d like one?”

She comes back with two wine glasses and a bottle of white wine and places them on the center table.

“So,” she says after a moment, busying herself with filling the glasses of wine. She hands me one.

“This is awkward.” I chuckle nervously and sip the wine.

She shrugs. “It shouldn't be. We are both adults with the same interest.”

“I don’t want to start this,” I point between us. “Just to leave feeling like an asshole because harmless fun turned into feelings.”

She stares at me for a few seconds before bursting into laughter. “You don’t have to worry about that. I'm not the Gianna of the past who falls for a guy easily.” She chokes out, trying to calm down. “I promise you won’t catch me falling for a guy because we slept together.”

I finish my wine and place it on the table. “Do you have any cons?”

She shifts closer to me, crosses her legs, and pours me another glass of wine. “I don't want anyone to know about this arrangement. Especially Nala.”

She hands me my newly filled glass and clinks our glasses.

“Me neither,” I say lightly. Where has she been all my life?

“Then cheers to our newfound relationship. Or, let me say, friendship.” She smirks and clinks our glasses.

She stares at me while sipping her drink. Damn, I didn't know she had that sultriness in her.

There's a lot about her that I would love to unravel. She traces her fingers lightly on my neck. She then takes my glass and places it with hers on the table.

She takes me by surprise as she presses her lips against mine. The kiss is open-mouthed and hot, swooping down on me like a wave. Making me feel dizzy with the taste of her. Heat builds inside me with a strange force.

This is by far the most intense kiss we’ve shared so far, and yet, somehow, it isn’t enough. None of this is enough.

I pull away from her mouth and silence her protests by moving my mouth along her jaw and down her neck. I bite and lick at her sensitive skin.

She buries her hands in my hair and gasps. “Chris…”

“Gianna,” I moan back, eyes closed, feeling like I’m on fire, flames spreading out over my entire body. I want more of her.

I press my mouth back to hers, kissing her desperately, and swiftly carry her onto my lap. She brings her hands up to my neck, pulling me closer.

“More,” she whispers against my lips. “Chris, I need more.”

I understand her perfectly because I feel the same. I desperately need more of her.

She trails her fingers over my shoulders and down my arm. She starts to unbutton my shirt. When she’s done, she pulls more of it out of my pants and helps me take it off.

Her eyes scan my body and explore my stomach, fingers dancing along my abdomen. Our hands are all over each other, exploring every inch of our bodies.

Soon devoid of clothes, I run my fingers down the long curve of her neck. Searching her eyes, I press kisses from her collarbone up her neck. I smirk against her skin as she sighs into my touch.
