I stare back at her while she blushes. “Why are you here when you should be resting? Where is the cook?”

“I told her to rest.”

“Why?”

She shrugs. “Because I wanted to cook for you. I wanted to do something nice for you, and this happened.” She points to the mess in the kitchen.

My heart melts, and I tuck a stray hair behind her ear. I smile. “What am I gonna do with you?”

She turns off the tap and fully turns to look at me. She tugs at my tie with her other hand. “Maybe make love to me.”

My eyes twitch. “Babe! You can't just say that!”

“Why not?” she whines. “You haven't touched me in almost two months.”

I open my mouth, but nothing comes out. I'm shocked that she's keeping count of it.

“No, it's my turn to talk,” she continues. I close my mouth and lean against the sink. “Do you know how hard it is to live with a man who won't even touch you? Am I no longer attractive to you? Are you tired of me?”

I blink in confusion, wondering if I heard her right. “What are you on about?” But she's deadly serious and almost on the brink of tears.

“Just tell me that you don't love me anymore, and I will get out of your life. It's that simple.”

I pull her into an embrace. “You're perfect Gianna. The most perfect woman I've ever met. Perfect for me. I can't ever be tired of you because I love you, and I will always love you until my last breath.”

She pulls out of the embrace to look at me. The hurt is evident in her eyes, and it makes me feel like an asshole for not noticing it sooner.

“Then why won't you touch me? The other day, you ran out of the bathroom just because you saw me naked. Why?”

“I'm doing it all for you. I ran before I could lose control.”

She frowns, “I don't understand.”

“You are still healing, babe. You still have wounds, and you flinch sometimes when I touch you. How can I sleep with you when you are still healing?”

“But I'm okay now. You won't even let me do anything around the house.”

I take her burned hand in my own. “This is why… I can't bear to see you hurt.”

She huffs. “I just wanted to surprise you.”

I smile amusedly at her. “Oh, your plan worked because I was surprised. I still am.”

I gently let go of her wrist and head to the bathroom. “I will be right back. Wait here.” I get the first aid box from under the sink.

“Please sit.” She hesitantly sits, earning a smile of approval from me. I wrap my fingers gently around her wrist and apply ointment to the burn. I then wrap it with a bandage.

I look up only to meet her endeared eyes on me. She smirks. “There's a saying that if you kiss wounds, they will heal faster,”

I raise an eyebrow and tease her. “Is that a saying or you just made it up?”

“I swear there's a saying like that.”

I press a kiss on her bandaged hand, shutting her up. I guess she wasn't really expecting me to do it. Little does she know that she's got me wrapped around her little finger.

I stand and get a glass of water and some painkillers which I give her. She obediently takes the medicine. She starts wiggling her feet.

“Can you carry me to the room? My feet hurt.”
