“But there was sex involved in that entertainment. Maybe you’ll think I’m super boring if we’re just chilling.”
“I’m pretty sure that’s not possible.”
Her own purr started up and I couldn’t help but laugh and hold her tighter.
“In any case, you don’t need to worry about that. You’re not here to entertain me.”
“But I want to.”
“You’re doing fine. I promise I’m entirely content right now.” I stroked my hand down her back in soothing motions and let my scent do as it pleased. It was thick enough that I could smell the rich combination of the two of us—honeysuckle and citrus, ginger and cloves. “Want to see a neat trick to relax an omega?”
Allie perked up. “Absolutely. I’m a high-strung individual at the best of times.”
I carefully maneuvered my fingers on her throat until I found the scent gland on each side and pressed firmly with my thumb and fingers. Allie let out a soft mewl and sank against me as her body melted into jelly. I kept up careful pressure and moved my fingers in gentle circular motions until her purr was like thunder rumbling.
“This is fucking witchcraft,” she murmured, sounding like she was seconds away from drifting off.
“I used it a fair bit while you were in the initial depth of the heat haze.” It was a bit of a magic button, but not strong enough to override the haze itself. I tended to use it with some clients who got overly anxious and spiraled, but Allie was pretty good at working through her feelings with regular comfort.
“Can I do it to myself?”
“You can try, but it’s generally not quite as effective as having someone else do it. Some effect is better than none, though.”
“Does it work on alphas? I sort of zoned out in biology. I don’t remember them mentioning if alphas had a magic chill button or not.”
“It’s not nearly as strong as with omegas, but it still feels nice.”
“Roll over,” she demanded. Allie flopped over to the side and stared at me until I obeyed, then climbed on top to straddle my waist, her fingers dancing over my neck. “Show me where.”
I guided her hands to my scent glands and she pressed like I had done for her. My purr rumbled to life immediately, the gentle relaxation of the pressure at my throat untangling the knots of stress in my body. She wiggled happily above me and leaned forward, tracing her lips over the curve of my shoulder, dropping tiny kisses as she went.
Allie kept at it like her sole goal was to keep my purr going for as long as possible. It wasn’t very often that my clients concerned themselves with my comfort beyond what I could give them during their heat. If she wanted to explore this small way to take care of me, I wasn’t going to dissuade her.
Eventually her full weight settled against my back and she sighed, draping herself over me. “It’s entirely unfair I have to go back to university after all this. All my muscle knots are going to leap back into existence.”
I rolled back over and she squawked at being flipped before I gathered her into my arms. “That’s a problem for future Allie. Present Allie should have no such worries.”
“Maybe you should distract present Allie so she doesn’t have time to focus on worries.”
I chuckled and tipped her chin up so I could kiss that perfect mouth. “I can do that.”
With no real schedule to adhere to, we ate, slept, and fucked according to the demands of my heat. Hours melted into days, and I lost count of how many times I’d been taken, how many times Sidney had made me come.
I lay draped over him, comfortably resting with his heartbeat against my ear. “Do you want to knot me?”
Sidney’s scent spiked, his muscles tensing beneath me.
“Sorry, is that bad? Should I not have asked?”
“You’re fine.” He relaxed beneath me again. “It’s not usually phrased as asking if I want to. More so, my clients demand it when they’re in the throes of their heat.”
“Oh. Well, I was wondering. We haven’t done that yet, have we?”
He shook his head.
“I may have done some investigating on my phone while you were napping the other day. I figure there’s no time like the present.”
“I’d love to knot you during the next wave.”
