I attended to each of the puppies, giving their bottles and helping them have a potty break before I slipped back to the next patient.
I loved my job more than I expected to when I started it. Plenty of new things over the years kept me on my toes, and I had enough contact with patients to know I was putting some good out into the world. It helped that Dr. J was an easy boss. She demanded a lot out of us, but her expectations weren’t unreasonable and her opinion was so valued in the community that we all strove to do our best and earn her respect. All of that combined made work satisfying.

I coordinated with the rescue between patients, and soon enough my workday was over. Allie leapt into my arms the moment I returned home and set the puppies down.
“Did you miss me?” I asked.
“Of course I missed you. I had to spend all day without you. What the fuck is up with that?”
I boosted her up to make her koala cling more comfortable, and let her kiss me to her heart’s content. My blood simmered the longer she continued, my cock rising to attention.
She finally pulled away and grinned at me. “Put the puppies in the nursery. I need some attention.”
I did exactly as she commanded, and the moment she saw me close the nursery door, she bolted for the bedroom, triggering a predator response in the back of my brain that demanded I chase her. She took a flying leap onto the bed, and a moment later I was caging her with every limb.
“Are you being a tease?”
“Hardly. I fully intend to let you satisfy every urge on me.”
Her fingers hooked into the waistband of my scrubs, her mouth greedy on mine. I was trying not to base too much of our relationship happiness on physicality, but the way she touched me, her enthusiasm to share these experiences with me, and the ease of trust she put into me made it too easy to do so.
“Were you running on purpose to make me chase you?”
“Maaaybe.” She wiggled beneath me and gave me a mischievous grin.
