He turned away from me.

“Tell me you’re upset about someone no longer pining over you and have decided to date someone else without telling me.” This situation wasn’t funny, but it kind of was. He’d gone crazy over me. Not in the healthiest of ways, sure, but when was the way Jareth dealt with emotions healthy?

I laughed. One that hit me so hard I practically doubled over.

“You think this is funny?” His incredulous voice only made me laugh harder.

“Well I’ve always said I wanted to see what would happen if you lost your cool. I guess I got my wish.”

I grabbed his arm, now that he was facing me, and leaned against it, gasping for breath.

“I don’t know if I’ll ever fully understand you, Sunshine. I thought you’d have run after seeing this.”

I sighed, finally catching my breath. “This.” I waved my hand around. “This is over the top, but I sort of get it. I don’t want to see it happen again though.” I’d had enough of a volatile life growing up.

He nodded. “It won’t.”

“Alrighty, then let’s get started.”

He tugged me back before I could fully move away from him. “Thank you.”

I cupped his cheek, seeing the flash of emotions in his eyes.

“I was afraid this might be triggering for you.” Shame was evident in the low pitch of his voice and the way his head hung low.

I needed to see the remorse in him. Especially knowing he didn’t regret most anything in life. “Jareth, I’ve been around you constantly for three years. You’ve never done anything like this before. And I know you’ll think twice about venting your anger this way because I refuse to be with someone who can’t control his temper,” I told him in no uncertain words. “I’d leave you and not look back. I lived with enough turmoil in my childhood to want better for myself.”

His fingers flexed on my hips. “I don’t ever want you afraid of me.”

“I’m not. And no matter what, I know you’d never hurt me.” And I wasn’t shoving red flags under the rug. I knew him better than anyone else. This was not the norm for him.

“Never.” His promise rang true.

I wrapped my arms around him, squeezing him tight, as he did the same. Was it possible to feel like you’re home in someone else’s arms? Being with him calmed me and soothed me in ways I couldn’t explain and despite the state of this room, there was no doubt I was safe with him. “Where do you want to start?”

“I don’t think it matters,” he muttered and hugged me.

We spent the next hour going through the strewn papers and filing them, picking up books laying across the floor, and putting most everything where it belonged. There was one small corner left for us to go through.

Nothing except a small table was broken. I stopped and pointed at it, my eyebrow raised in question. Jareth stared at me for a moment and let out a sigh. “I admit that was a poor choice. I liked that piece.”

I shook my head.

“You know.” I trailed the tip of my fingers along the edge of his desk, surprised at my boldness. “I’ve always wanted to know what it would be like to have sex with you on your desk at work. What if we practiced here first?”

The book he’d just picked up plunked to the floor as he stalked my way. I laughed as he gripped my waist and lifted me onto the desk. He pushed apart my thighs and crowded in between my legs. “You wouldn’t believe the number of times I’ve thought about fucking you on this desk.”

He dipped his head to rest in the crook of my neck before drawing in a deep breath. “How do you always smell so damn good?” he murmured as he ran his nose up the side of my neck.

The feathery sensation had me shuddering in his grasp. “How do you turn me on with just your words and the barest touch?”

He groaned as his hips snapped forward, grinding into my core. Already my inner muscles clenched, waiting for the moment he’d drive his cock home. Jareth wove his fingers into my hair and dug them into my scalp as he pulled my face to his and destroyed me with just his lips. He didn’t start off slow; he immediately plunged his tongue into my mouth, battling with my own, demanding, taking over.

My breathing grew erratic and heat spiraled out from every place we touched. I was pretty sure that I’d never get enough of him or us together like this. I hastily tugged his shirt from his pants, shoving my hands under it, and dragging my nails up his back, wanting him just as fiercely as he wanted me.

He yanked my shirt up and over my head. After throwing it into a corner of the room, he bent to nuzzle his face in between my breasts while reaching around with one hand to undo the clasp. My bra fell free, and he lifted both boobs together. “These are the most perfect tits I’ve ever seen. I love how they fill my hands and spill over.” His mouth descended to nip and lightly bite at one nipple before moving on to the next. I arched my back, pushing them further into his touch, letting my hands fall to my side onto the desk.

He took note of what I enjoyed. I loved that most. It helped build that connection with him, knowing that my pleasure was important to him.
