“Except for the mess that’s now on your desk.”

I look down at the mass of papers I just pushed aside. “Yeah, but it was worth it.”

“It was.”

“And it was my own fault. I’m afraid the need to take you got the better of me.”

She grins. “I’m not complaining.”

“No. I noticed.” I lean in and kiss her. “Unfortunately, though, if we’re gonna get this proposal finished…”

“I should probably get off of your desk.”

“I wish it wasn’t true, but…”

I step back, separating us, and she hops down from my desk, although she doesn’t move away and stands in front of me, naked and looking up into my eyes. “I love you, Hunter.”

“I love you too.” I pull her into my arms, holding her close. “We’ll take a break for lunch in a little while, and then do some more work this afternoon… and then this evening, after dinner, I’m gonna take you to bed again.”

Her eyes sparkle as she smiles. “Really?”

“Yeah.” I kiss her forehead. “And if you’re really lucky, I might even let you get some sleep.”

Chapter Nine

Livia

It wasn’t ‘after dinner’ that Hunter took me to bed. We couldn’t wait that long, so we took dinner to bed with us, although food was the last thing on my mind. I was keen to learn more, and Hunter was only too willing to teach me.

We fell asleep eventually, in each other’s arms, both of us exhausted but so, so satisfied, and I’d have happily stayed that way… except Hunter set an alarm, even though it’s Sunday, because we’ve still got work to do.

He leans over, switching it off, and then turns back, kissing me, as I stretch my arms above my head.

“Are you sore?” he asks.

“Where?” I look up into his molten brown eyes, and melt a little more myself.

“Anywhere?”

“No… I don’t think so.”

He smiles. “In that case, would you like to take a bath with me?”

“Do we have time for a bath? I thought you said yesterday it would take too long…”

He kisses me into silence. “That was because I was desperate to be inside you yesterday.”

“And you’re not today?”

“Of course I am, but I’m getting in some practice.”

“What for?”

“Showing a little more self-control around you.”

“Why do you need to do that?”

“Because we’ll be back at work tomorrow. I don’t think it’s a very good idea if I take you over your desk in the middle of the afternoon, do you?”
